Help this go viral. Japanese town hall meeting gone bad
On the 19th of July 2011, people in Fukushima finally got a meeting with government officals from Tokyo. Aside from a chance to ask the life-or-death questions burning in their minds, it was a chance to demand that the government evacuate people promptly in Fukushima and provide financial and logistical support for them.
They were met with a callous and transparent kiss-off, before the officials walked out on them en masse. Here’s a video compiled from several others, which are linked under the video on the YouTube page.
Fukushima Citizens Snubbed by Japanese Government Officials from Tokyo
This is so in-your-face that it paints a terrible (and hence accurate) picture of the GoJ’s seeming apathy toward the plight of ordinary people, read: citizens, voters, parents worried about their children etc. It is a damning video on a very personal level, easy to relate to by any citizen who has ever gotten the mushroom treatment: kept in the dark and fed, well, you know how that one ends.
Let’s help it go viral. Post it around. The YouTube link is below the video.
