TEPCO plans to scope unit 2 again using the same location. Workers will make the attempt in late March using an 18 meter scope.
The previous attempt used a 10 meter scope. They will also include a radiation detector on the end of the scope for the new attempt.
TEPCO hopes to get a better view of the water level in unit 2 with the longer scope as the previous attempt did not determine water levels.
