Decontamination work goes on, even in the winter. Decontamination workers and officials are admitting that places that have been decontaminated may need to have it done repeatedly. Wind and rain bring in more contamination from trees, mountains and other areas of contamination. Each time they clean an area they need to strip soil and haul it away. Some places had clean topsoil brought in but that may soon become contaminated and end up in the growing piles of contaminated dirt.
Officials have admitted places of lower radiation may be easier to decontaminate successfully. Right now the entire thing is just one big experiment.
