Nuclear Protests In Tokyo Swell Back Up To 100,000
Protests have been ongoing but gotten little media attention to the point many assumed they had ended. This past Friday 100,000 people showed up in the winter rain to join the evening protest.
Large weekly protests in Tokyo spawned related protests in cities all over Japan, some continue every Friday in these other towns. In July protesters occupied the entrance to the Oi nuclear plant for days demanding it not be restarted.
This late in the year big turn out could be a sign of the public taking another step forward against the government inaction to address the needed energy change and lack of proper handling of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
