Germany Opens Largest Power To Gas Plant

This innovative plant opened recently in Stuttgart. The plant uses renewable energy and stores it as methane, creating a power storage device. The methane can then be used as needed to supplement power generation. One of the challenges of renewables is to smooth out the dips in generation that can happen. Solar and wind typically compliment each other but energy storage is needed to be able to store excess power to take the best advantage of these technologies.
