Freaky Mutant Bugs Found

Teachers from a school in Chiba found some strange mutant beetles. Someone had brought them in to a store that deals with bugs and the teachers from Chiba happened to be there when they were brought in. The bugs were collected from someone in Ibaraki.

The stag beetles have a clear male and female species. The example male is on the left in the photo and the female is on the right. The hermaphrodite beetle in is the middle. The beetle is about 5cm long and has female legs and body shape but a male head and claws. The teachers didn’t come out and blame the radiation levels from Fukushima but there have been mounting cases of insect mutations found in the radiation zones in the region.
