  • In yesterday Le Monde about the energy of the sun and the decision of the french government to limit this energy: "France will accomplish this feat as one of the few countries that lose jobs in one sector, however promising. By setting the limit of the solar power to 500 megawatts per year through 2020, the Ministry of Industry gets, certainly not to increase the budget deficit. But this choice is also explained by the desire to preserve the share of nuclear (80%) in energy production in our country. Investment in nuclear projects under way, including the EPR, can they support a real growth of renewables?" (with translate google)

  • Nuclear reactor in Japan halted: A reactor at Kansai Electric Power Co.'s (9503.TO) Oi nuclear power plant in Fukui Prefecture has been halted due to a problem with its cooling system and an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the glitch, prefectural government officials and the plant's operator said Saturday according to the Kyodo news service.
The government's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said the problem with the No. 1 reactor at the plant will not have an adverse effect on the environment, Kyodo said. The reactor has been undergoing adjustment procedures prior to commercial operations for an unusually long period of around four months. www.marketwatch.com

  • @lillymunster The most likely root causes for silver leading to the observed Ag 110m pollutions may be as follows :
    - the neutron-absorbing alloy Ag-In-Cd contained in control rods ;
    - some silver coated seals. hps.ne.uiuc.edu

  • @Majj can you explain your post a bit more it looks interesting
    by elainekirk 7/16/2011 5:52:25 PM

  • @Majj, we should ask Bo next time he stops in. I worry after hearing of someone being taken in by a couple that were Yakuza who then tried to extort the evacuees. If we can make sure the offer is honest we may want to distribute the information.
    by lillymunster 7/16/2011 5:57:50 PM

  • @es I can't find the exact info, but palladium-110 is stable, and I would think that would have been the father product of Ag-110m.

  • The offer post reminded me of some of the housing information I read. There are areas where homes can't be sold, entire cities or neighborhoods are empty. As industries died off some areas became empty. There could be the potential for free housing if an area offered it but the jobs situation still comes up.

  • I have large fish in the early detection and contamination from radioactive material is uncanny yellowtail (NEWS post-Seven)
Seven women's magazine, which conducted a survey of the radiological detection of seafood in early July, was actually found, seafood, 28 items of goods amounted to 100, found 30 percent of high probability of contamination. Most of them out 5 levels higher, one of "consumer Hagi or" # 2 "cast" # 3 "squid" # 4 "taste" # 5 "flounder" was.
217 and protrudes a becquerel / kg, or purchased by consumers Hagino Kujukuri Chiba neighborhood shops, which is a good reason.
"Dried fish is to dry the moisture decreases, the higher the weight ratio of the radioactive material. Probably even higher numbers this time its effects" (Yamaguchi Yingchang environmental science professor specializing in food Mimasaka I)
Should focus the first time produced a high concentration of radioactivity in Iwate second. First time in migratory fish habitat by changing seasons, the north coast from spring to summer, autumn and winter will come down the coast. news.www.infoseek.co.jp
"Cast has been feeding fish such as sardines and mackerel. This is the first time in Iwate production, while the coastal waters north and Fukushima, the body can be enriched by eating food contaminated radioactive may think that "(Professor, Yamaguchi)
Radioactive contamination of seafood, eat small fish a plankton eating fish is medium-sized small fish that eat large fish it ... in the course of the food chain this is accumulated in fish radioactive material that is more concentrated will.
"In general, fish are concentrated in 30 to 100 times the cesium in seawater. As for the first time become such a big fish, the higher the concentration of cesium gradually" (Mr. Ikuo Anzai, Ritsumeikan University, Professor Emeritus )
The accumulation of cesium in the medium-sized fish over the food chain will take some time.
Chernobyl accident in the laboratory data examined the marine life environment, the cesium concentration peaked 5-6 months after the accident Suzuki's mid-size fish was a scruffy nine months as a true medium-sized fish . In large tuna fish, that is one year later.

    by lillymunster 7/16/2011 7:21:11 PM

  • @Majj Yep. This will be the next wave of realizations.

migratory fish habitat by changing seasons, the north coast from spring to summer, autumn and winter will come down the coast

contamination levels: # 2 "cast" ... "Cast has been feeding fish such as sardines and mackerel.

And this is big: In "Dried fish as the moisture decreases, the weight ratio of the radioactive material becomes higher. This effect will probably become even higher over time"
