We captured lots of photos of today's mess at the reactors. - TEPCO says water in the No. 1 reactor pressure vessel is lower than believed and nuclear fuel rods are totally exposed. TEPCO says temperatures are 100-120 C inside the reactor vessel and the situation is not out-of-control.by Veenie 5/12/2011 3:58:39 AM

"About the fuel rods inside the RPV of Reactor 1:
"The fuel rods probably do not retain the original shape any more. Our understanding is that they have melted down to the bottom of the RPV. We do not have the data yet to deny that the melted fuel has leaked into the Containment Vessel."
