@es #3 starts spewing around that time also and seems to look like darker smoke coming out.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:03:12 PM

@Edano they seem to slide in little bits of truth here and there. Makes one wonder how much radiation has been released watching 4 and 3 spew steam on a daily basis for months?
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:04:07 PM

@Edano daini has had to turn off the leccy in #1 due to sparking cables in the basement they hope to restart it within hrs so they can resume sfp cooling no mention of backup I posted a link an hr or so ago

word on twitter is that -
prime minister insisted the Cabinet Office to stress testing of nuclear safety involving the Board. so that you can not just decide to resume operations at the discretion of the ministry. The difference between his position as prime minister 海江田 disagreement surfaced as a Cabinet "
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 9:08:46 PM

@Edano that is a sign of things breaking down. They can't remember what lies they told last week or the PR department is just so weary the facade is falling off.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:11:32 PM

@Edano which essentially means that Japan with a population of 127million people is going to be tightly packed in inhabitable areas if there are any

Kan is pushing legislation through on air and sea pollution from nukes possibly as his only means of stopping tepco letting it spill everywhere but he has to get it through

I would like to know what this doctor is saying @Ian or @dh or @bo

@elainekirk I think enough of the population has seen the reality and those who are displaced are slightly back on their feet at least enough to pay attention to news. It will make it much harder for the government and their corporate buddies to do things. The Genkai restart is a good example.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:18:49 PM

@Jo some of the big smoke events seem to happen around the time of a quake.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:22:57 PM

If I am reading the Googlese correctly the local govt. is blocking restart of Onagawa reactors based on road improvements so people could safely be evacuated in an accident.

britain has a sunday paper called the news of the world and over a year ago they were found to have been phone hacking famous names/politicians etc big fuss but life went on till this week it was found they had hacked the phone of a missing girl later found murdered ...there are heads rolling left right and centre and the 168yr old paper is being closed down ......it is a lesson to Tepco and the politicians /industry .....things can smoulder for a long time but it only takes one spark...
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 9:33:18 PM

@Veenie iye veenie birdmuck as I call him
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 9:35:11 PM

@elainekirk ad-age had a story on that today.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:37:34 PM

@lillymunster NISA it seems is saying they have to inspect all electrical equipment what the heck has kicked ass in Japan? munths of letting tepco pollute then bang 'lets tighten up' or are they deflecting attention?? all very sudden
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 9:39:42 PM

@elainekirk Somewhere in recent weeks I think they finally realized the people in Japan are not going to roll over, take it and go back to whatever. The national paper that did a poll that had in the 80-90% range of people against nuclear or saying they don't trust the govt. That had to be a wake up call. If that much of the population is after your head you can't keep lying to them.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 9:46:56 PM

@veenie @edano is this related to the quake you just posted edano

@lillymunster this is so true but where do they start ? a tweeter said yesterday that if the past 50yrs of gov/power comp collusion came out then anything could happen
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 9:51:13 PM

@elainekirk It is impossible to hide facts or manipulate the message completely today. There are just so many ways for information to bypass the govt. and corporate controlled media. Also the lies required are no so absurd that a big media outlet could risk losing all credibility if they kept trying to feed the public things everyone knows to be no true.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 10:01:34 PM

@lillymunster it is an own goal once the iaea practically gave them the carry on nod they stopped giving any kind of info that was useful so the people rallied to find it for themselves and now the goj/tepco are fighting to get back their 'we are in control' status
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 10:06:54 PM

@Veenie thanky veenie x tweeted and fbooked
by elainekirk 7/7/2011 10:20:14 PM

@elainekirk that seems to be exactly what happened. I remember some comments very early, probably while still on Reuters where people thought this might happen. Eventually people figure out the reality and start side stepping the govt. to deal with it. I think we have officially hit that point.
by lillymunster 7/7/2011 10:38:23 PM

ooops #4 is not good depth?? anybody got todays levels?

by lillymunster 7/7/2011 11:24:28 PM

@elaine, have you found a trick to get Chrome to restart translating? It keeps stopping with the translations and nothing seems to reinitialize it.
