  • Al-Khalili promulgating nuclear as the only hope for human survival : www.youtube.com

  • @Ian OMG for real?
    by lillymunster 1/12/2012 1:03:32 AM

  • @lillymunster, he says we may not survive the catastrophe climate change and nuclear to the way to avert it. I've never heard any scientists saying the human race might become extinct from climate change. I've never gotten a clear impression of what the degree of catastrophe will be, other than big changes, rising oceans and such that will force changes, but I've not heard extinction.

  • @lilly the prison break is all there is on the news here, everyone here is freaked! No one is used to feeling any kind of threat.
    by bo 1/12/2012 1:21:08 AM

  • @lillymunster, he repeatedly seems to think that not being in the pay of the nuclear industry is proof of not being biased. As if Christians are not biased when it comes to religion if they're not in the pay of the church. But none of those personal issues matter, just the quality of the arguments. He says that worry about what will happen to nuclear waste far in the future is irrational, only what's good for us here and now is rational. It's basically an appeal to amorality.
    by Ian 1/12/2012 1:25:36 AM

  • @Ian He makes irrational arguments and claims they are rational. The issue of what we will do with all the spent fuel is a huge environmental problem and similar in many ways to the climate change issue. Isn't it trading one disaster for another?
