  • Does anyone remember the circumstances of the previous worker deaths?

The newest one was heart attack.
    One was acute leukemia.
One was heat stroke, later heart attack and the 2 hrs it took to get him help.
    I am missing one.
    by lillymunster 1/11/2012 2:48:36 PM

by Pedro Jesus 1/11/2012 3:25:22 PM

  • @Pedro Jesus I am not counting those two as they died in the tsunami vs. the list of questionable deaths at the plant after the melt downs.

  • @Panserbjorne9 What is intriguing is that Iran authorities never conduct thorough investigations of such cases and they do not give any protection to their «precious» nuclear scientists. I wouldn't be surprised if neither Israel nor the USA have been involved in this terrorist actions. I suspect this is just another level of propaganda against the rest of the world.

  • "Motorcycle riders flashed by and attached a magnetic bomb onto a car carrying a nuclear scientist working at Iran's main uranium enrichment facility. By the time the blast tore apart the silver Peugeot, the bike was blocks away, weaving through Tehran traffic after what Iran calls the latest strike in an escalating covert war.

The attack — which instantly killed the scientist and fatally wounded his driver on Wednesday — was at least the fourth targeted hit against a member of Iran's nuclear brain trust in two years." www.google.com
    by Panserbjorne9 1/11/2012 7:59:25 PM

  • @Panserbjorne9 They should add that the previous bomb attack, very similar to this one, to have killed another Iranian nuclear scientist had been allegedly perpetrated by an Iranian man whose links to the Mossad (that got him the death penalty in a record breaking court session) were never proven.

How in the blazes do you go from healthy to coma in 2 hours? Is this some new undocumented kind of sickness you can get from far less than 1 SV / hr dose?
    by artnuke 1/11/2012 8:08:34 PM

  • @artnuke Where did you read that? I didn't read that in your link. It says he had symptoms for over 2 months and the teeth didn't fall, they were removed, probably by a dentist. Anyway, that website is quite sensationalist so the story could have been a bit distorted to fit their style. Or it could just be another invention.

  • Reactor monitor failure caused by bad maintenance

The operator of a nuclear monitoring system covering Japan says the system malfunctioned last month because of poor maintenance.

The Emergency Response and Support System failed to transmit data to terminal screens at the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency for more than 24 hours from December 30th. The agency also failed to notice the problem for more than one hour.

The system monitors pressure, temperature, and other real-time conditions of reactors at nuclear power plants around the country, as well as radiation levels in surrounding areas.

An investigation by the government-affiliated corporation that manages the system revealed that the data-processing functions malfunctioned because of poor maintenance.

The corporation says it will step up its maintenance of the system by rebooting its server software twice a year and introducing an automated alarm system.

    Night rainbow photographed in Okinawa

A night rainbow created by the light of the moon has been photographed in Japan's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa.

The multicolored arc in the night sky was photographed last Saturday on Ishigaki Island. A researcher from Japan's National Astronomical Observatory on the island used a special camera.

Night rainbows can be seen before or after a full moon when the air is moist and the skies are dark. Water droplets in the atmosphere refract light from the moon.

But the phenomenon is said to be difficult to capture on camera, because moonlight is much weaker than sunlight.

Ishigaki had intermittent drizzle last Saturday evening, and the rainbow was reportedly visible for about 30 minutes while the moon was out.

The observatory says the phenomenon has been photographed in Hawaii and elsewhere, but rarely in Japan.

Researcher Hidekazu Hanayama, who took the photo, described seeing the night rainbow as a mystical experience.

  • @Pedro Jesus @artnuke The woman writing the blog in Minamisoma apparently has had all of these problems. She describes they as Pedro mentions, not as ENEnews seems to be. Either way she has had a series of very odd health problems and the changes were documented by her doctors. She had a dental exam before Fukushima that was all good and in less than 10 months all her teeth are rotting along with losing her hair and having multiple toe nails fall off. She has something wrong with her, that is very clear. If it is radiation induced is another question.

  • Tulsi' to be used for anti-radiation medicine. tulsi has anti-oxidant properties and can repair cells damaged by exposure to radiation.

"Tulsi-based medicine is already in second phase of clinical trials. It has to undergo some more trials before it is finalised and goes for commercial production. Animal trials have also been conducted and their results were quite encouraging," DRDO's chief controller (R&D) W Selvamurthy told reporters.

Besides tulsi, sea-buckthorn and podophyllum hexandrum were other herbs chosen to develop medicines to not just treat those effected by nuclear radiations but also as a precaution for those going for rescue work in radiation-affected areas.
