Japan Earthquake | Page 51

  • @Joshua Diamond Right. So here is a comparison of the pressures in unit 1, 20Mar/26Mar.: Reactor pressure 0.295mPa/0.477mPa; containment vessel 0.170mPa/0.270mPa; suppression pool 0.160mPa/0.270mPa oh nhk live breaking

  • NHK LIVE NUKE UPdate
by marie rich 3/26/2011 10:46:41 PM

  • @Jojo Of course, the Japanese Government is hiding the really damaging information. For example, www.bousai.ne.jp has Miyagi/Fukushima prefectures "Under survey". It's been like that for days now.
    by Jojo 3/26/2011 10:47:02 PM

  • idk, maybe not live, but thy broke in to other stuff
by marie rich 3/26/2011 10:47:27 PM

  • my bad, it's not brand new
by marie rich 3/26/2011 10:48:33 PM

  • @James Ward -- so, we should just make stuff up out of our imagination because we aren't getting as much detailed information as we want? Sorry, but that is just as bad as underestimating the problem.
by Joshua Diamond 3/26/2011 10:49:36 PM

  • @Jojo That really ticks me off. Under survey my a**.
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 10:50:26 PM

  • www.mext.go.jp If you look at dust samplings, many towns outside the 20 km zone are massively contaminated, with both Iodine and Cesium. These towns need to be evacuated, they are hearing about radiation levels when the media GOES UP AND ASKS THEM ABOUT IT.
    by Jojo 3/26/2011 10:50:35 PM

  • @Jim Carver It's not just that one. For fallout readings, EVERY DAY the reading for both Miyagi/Fukushima prefectures is the same: "Not be measured because of dealing with the earthquake disaster." EVERY DAY!
    by Jojo 3/26/2011 10:51:39 PM

  • Maybe this will disaster will start waking people up - make us think about what we are doing - where we are going
by George Gibb 3/26/2011 10:51:54 PM

  • hOW COOME THE nhk hELICOPTER WHICH IS SUPPOSEDLY 30KM AWAY, IS SHOWING THE EXACT SAME ANGLE ?.dO THEY JUST GO UP IN THE aIR AND GO RIGHT BACK DOWN ?
aND IT SEEMS LIKE ALL THE SHOTS SHOWN ALWAYS HAVE THE STEAM GO TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE "SOUTH"
    by VeenOui 3/26/2011 10:52:05 PM

  • Sorry for the Caps, i locked accidentally :-(
    by VeenOui 3/26/2011 10:52:35 PM

  • why is it, that as soon as tepco get found out about something, they suddanly change what they were doing, the us said about sea water they changed to fresh water, (people were saying this from the start of using sea water) the radation lvls in the sea, were put in the public so now tepco have decided to pump this water into a holding tank to stop it going out to sea. this should have been done at the start. cowboys
    by rob 3/26/2011 10:53:36 PM

  • @Joshua Diamond Point out where I stated "we need to just make stuff up". I think you need to take a break from the conversation and quit acting like a very small spoiled child. You are not going to control the conversation here, so back off.
by James Ward 3/26/2011 10:53:41 PM

  • @VeenOui Interesting observation... you're right. Thoughts anyone??
    by Meretisa 3/26/2011 10:53:47 PM

  • @George Gibb Pehaps that's the worry, hence the media blackout.
    by es 3/26/2011 10:54:12 PM

  • @es i agree
by George Gibb 3/26/2011 10:56:19 PM

  • @Jojo Well this isn't speculation. That's a cover-up. How else do you explain it? And if they're doing that, what's to stop them from doctoring the other numbers? Can't piss on my leg and say it's raining.
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 10:57:15 PM

  • @ rob. I get the suspicion Tepco had zero disaster plan.
    by Nancy 3/26/2011 10:57:16 PM

  • @rob I don't think they had a choice initially with all the damaged infrastructure and destruction - thats alot of clean water they needed
by George Gibb 3/26/2011 10:57:46 PM

  • I'm not justifying not giving readings for Miyagi, especially as Yamagata's iodine levels are shocking next door, but with hundreds of thousands of people in temporary shelters defecating into plastic bags with running water still slow to be restored, I do see why local workers can only be dealing with that. Kan should mobilise the entire Japan Self Defense Force to help it's ridiculous having thousands of soldiers in Hokkaido and Kyushu right now.
    by andyjsha 3/26/2011 10:57:47 PM

  • Greenpeace may be biased but they are publishing readings from the area that is being blacked out on the radiation maps.
    by Nancy 3/26/2011 10:58:03 PM

  • I know a group that is in Sendai and Iyate (sp) doing animal rescue work. I keep reading about really high levels up that way and worry about their safety.
    by Nancy 3/26/2011 10:59:08 PM

  • @All does anyone have the story about the 13,000 Us troops and ships being sent to Japan? It was on Kyodo news at one point...
by marie rich 3/26/2011 11:00:11 PM

  • The NHK anchor tells us that the situation at Fukushima "remains serious". Really??
by James Ward 3/26/2011 11:01:53 PM

  • Do you have a link Nancy?
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 11:02:25 PM

  • @George Gibb. that is vary true. but the big but is, They only do something diffrent when it gets in the news. there not being pro active, I think they have no idea what they are doing to be honest.
    by rob 3/26/2011 11:03:17 PM

  • Another food for thought "NHK Halicopter".They obviously have to ZOOM in with a Telelense IF they are 30km away......anybody ever done that ?.If you zoom from such a distance, would your picture be this clear AND not shaking all over ?
    by VeenOui 3/26/2011 11:03:47 PM

  • @rob Yeah, what's up with the shoes? Geez
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 11:04:26 PM

  • @Nancy i Fully agree with that statement. And i dont think we will see the truth fully for 30 years
    by rob 3/26/2011 11:04:33 PM

  • Karen Furst posted this link on Facebook page. Shows how long it would take to get various doses. Scarey www.japantimes.co.jp
by marie rich 3/26/2011 11:04:53 PM

  • @rob Don't forget TEPCO press officers are also working overtime - much of the news we're seeing most likely happened days ago and we're being trickle-fed confusing and often contradictory info.
    by es 3/26/2011 11:05:57 PM

  • @George Gibb Agree. If what we suspect is true, using salt water was the only option they had available to keep some degree of control over the reactors at Fukushima.
by James Ward 3/26/2011 11:06:09 PM

  • @rob well I'll guarantee the entire industry is working on this - they want it to go away its a multi trillion dollar business
by George Gibb 3/26/2011 11:06:29 PM

  • @George Gibb. id hope so. but looking at how things are going, Can it even be saved. how on earth do you fix a cracked reactor
    by rob 3/26/2011 11:07:34 PM

  • How bout try to vent the buildings before they blow up?
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 11:07:52 PM

  • have to take a break from this... been on all day. bless you all.
    by Meretisa 3/26/2011 11:07:56 PM

  • i don't know if this has been linked before: translate.google.de www.heise.de serious problems in the emergency cooling systems of the type of reactor from General Electric in Fukushima long been known since 1971
    by Matsuoko 3/26/2011 11:08:07 PM

  • @Meretisa for sure - don't wear yourself out
by George Gibb 3/26/2011 11:08:19 PM

  • bye, Meretisa
by marie rich 3/26/2011 11:08:24 PM

  • rest well Meretisa. Thanks
    by es 3/26/2011 11:08:26 PM

  • @Meretisa Thank you, you too.
by Jim Carver 3/26/2011 11:08:37 PM

  • bye Meretisa
    by Janis 3/26/2011 11:09:02 PM

  • @rob Reactors 1-4 are completely toast. TEPCO knew that when they started using salt water to attempt to cool the reactors.
by James Ward 3/26/2011 11:09:15 PM

  • What is up with the lack of news and hard numbers today? No real updates on any of the news sites, is there something I am missing? (I've only recently come online and started checking, but seem to be running into a brick wall?)
