  • nancy it would be good to try and get some sort of calibration on the vertical line.. to see if it increases day to day.. pretty hard to do tho
    by dean 5/7/2011 7:09:57 PM

  • need to go play with my granbabies.. be back later
    by dean 5/7/2011 7:10:30 PM

  • @Jocke_Jensen That's impossible.
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:10:31 PM

  • @marie rich I can't tell if there is steam at 1 either. the camera keeps moving.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:10:32 PM

  • @Jocke_Jensen It's around 7
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:11:03 PM

  • @Jocke...Wow..just last week I thought ..sun used to rise almost an hour late..
    by Optim 5/7/2011 7:11:04 PM

  • @dean hard to do with changing camera and the distance. It DOES look like it has sunk more this morning. Going to grab a screen shot and see if I can measure anything.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:11:17 PM

  • Thanks everybody for the update.
    by Christine - Minneapolis 5/7/2011 7:11:36 PM

  • 2's steaming nicely though...

    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:16:28 PM

  • The UW stream for google earth is black.
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:19:18 PM

  • I am working on another marked up outline of #4. It looks like the angle of the land side wall may have changed overnight. Marie's collapsing souffle theory.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:19:35 PM

  • @ Nancy - can you also check if 3 has altered? May just be the tippycam this am but it looks different - as if south wall is leaning
    by UKVal 5/7/2011 7:23:28 PM

  • outline of #4 from May 6 www.houseoffoust.com

by Nancy via Houseoffoust 5/7/2011 7:23:52 PM

  • @Nancy They must have an IR camera on tippy?
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:24:10 PM

  • today taken a few minutes ago www.houseoffoust.com

by Nancy via Houseoffoust 5/7/2011 7:24:19 PM

  • @Jim not that I know of. They turned the lights off last night and then turned them back on later.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:24:40 PM

  • @jim @jocke jocke is quite rite sunrise is 4.30 ish and a few days ago tepco did post a 5a.m. sunrise camshot
    by elainekirk 5/7/2011 7:25:44 PM

  • @Nancy Oh, cause teppy is black too, but I think they may turn that off. Wow that's a few degrees. Any comparisons with earlier views?
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:26:14 PM

  • @Nancy can ou strike a line throught the tower as a ref. that does not mean it has not changed but the photo seems a tad angled...
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:26:21 PM

  • @fitter on what image?
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:26:58 PM

  • @Nancy @marie yup a serving of souffle is on the way
    by elainekirk 5/7/2011 7:27:15 PM

  • @elainekirk Days are getting longer, but by that much? Gotta check that.
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:27:24 PM

  • @Jim I started grabbing images yesterday or maybe the day before? This is the first image I have of the sinking 4 phenomenon. www.houseoffoust.com

by Nancy via Houseoffoust 5/7/2011 7:28:28 PM

  • @jim the 7pm shot that tepco posts remains in situ until they decide to start posting again next day
    by elainekirk 5/7/2011 7:28:33 PM

  • @Jim: Exactly...So much light so early? Just 30 mins ago it was pitch black..No dusk phenomenon?
    by Optim 5/7/2011 7:29:05 PM

  • @Nancy well i guess the first, the tower give a ref to if the photo is square vs the buildings..
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:29:14 PM

  • @Jim I'm basicly quoting weather sites, which all say around 4:36
    today. For example www.gaisma.com ,
    by Jocke_Jensen 5/7/2011 7:29:25 PM

  • @fitter the two close ups don't have tower in them.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:29:59 PM

  • @Nancy OK though you just did have them in the shot...
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:30:44 PM

  • I stand corrected, days have been getting quite a bit longer, sorry:Astronomy

  • So do other people see the skewed wall angles in the second close up? Or is it me?
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:30:59 PM

  • @Nancy I see it- souffle time
by marie rich 5/7/2011 7:31:29 PM

  • @fitter I'm running on a lack of sleep and too much blood in my coffee stream today so type slowly. :-)
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:31:51 PM

  • @Nancy that was one heck of a show today, would think tepco would do better to alert the public, that if intentional could realy cause a panic if you were in Japan
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:32:20 PM

  • @marie rich the back (left) wall corner seems to have a bit more angle vs. the vertical line now. I saw the daylight pic and thought it looked like the titanic sinking.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:32:50 PM

  • definite souffle - thanks for pics Nancy
    by UKVal 5/7/2011 7:33:37 PM

  • @Nancy Every time I see new pictures I think they all look the worse over time
by marie rich 5/7/2011 7:33:54 PM

  • @Nancy looks like they have some things going on, agian i would pay attention to the equipment... the one rig coat 3mil to buy and freight in.. (don't think thats the one in the pics) and there are only something like five in teh world... and i think they have three.... can't afford to lose them
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:34:41 PM

  • I will try to make a point of grabbing 2-3 pics during daylight so we can reference. Not a perfect science but better than relying on memory
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:35:02 PM

  • @Nancy I see it, looks like the foundation is going.
    by JMV 5/7/2011 7:35:21 PM

  • @marie rich agree, they seem to be deterierating, and less and less close up seem to be coming out.... any thermal lately
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:35:50 PM

  • @Nancy At first it was barely noticeable, now it's pretty obvious.
