  • @fitter If the huge putzmeisters they air freighted in are the same ones they showed in the media they were beige colored and had a large truck body like a fire truck. So I don't know if the media used a wrong photo or if they are holding the big ones back until they need them for larger work or concreting?
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:36:36 PM

  • any high tech people out there know if you can get satilite with corrodonites
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:37:09 PM

  • Well, reactors are close to sea so there is much ground water which was removed by pumping off but after quake and power cut they dont restore this... you can image what this can do...
    by xxx 5/7/2011 7:37:15 PM

  • @Nancy Good plan. I'm out all day for a staff seminar. That last set of lineups clinches it for me. Good work.
    by radioguy 5/7/2011 7:37:27 PM

  • @fitter Digital globe will take high res images based on coordinates but they are spendy. They can do straight overhead or a slight angle
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:37:42 PM

  • @fitter Nothing live unless you have a special account.
    by Jim 5/7/2011 7:38:04 PM

  • @Nancy i think they are holding back, the ones i've seen on the screen don't look big enought to be them... colors could be different esaliy
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:38:35 PM

  • It is 2:37pm my time so I am thinking a 2pm, 7pm and 10 or 11pm (CST) shots. If we get a huge nearby quake and I know about it I can grab another shot to see if anything moved during the quake.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:39:05 PM

  • @fitter the digital globe ones?
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:39:24 PM

  • @Jim what is spendy its all relevent to ones personal impression... i know a person who buys 300 dollar shoes and they look the same to me
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:40:18 PM

  • I used to know people that work at EROS, they likely have images and can do them but I don't know if any of their work is available to the public anymore.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:40:38 PM

  • @fitter high hundreds into the thousand dollar range for an image that may or may not tell us much.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:41:48 PM

  • @Nancy when was the last quake... do we have anyone charting them.... will defenitly have an effect on what you are doing .... so you can chart the photo relevent to events.. between them....
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:41:51 PM

  • @Nancy yea thats pricy in my book
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:42:26 PM

  • Took additional screen shots this morning, 32 of them here s1097.photobucket.com
by Debra Beckham 5/7/2011 7:42:31 PM

  • @fitter someone notified yesterday or about 15+ hours ago now of a 4.0 that wass 37 miles from the plant.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:42:46 PM

  • @Nancy would not wanted to be the guys working there our today thier last night.... they were probably adding water, but with that much reaction ... wouldt take much to go wong...
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:44:18 PM

  • @fitter www.japanquakemap.com should have all the quakes since march 11
    by Jocke_Jensen 5/7/2011 7:45:17 PM

  • I worry about a combination of turning the land around the building into mud and the ongoing quakes.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:46:52 PM

  • Last week there was a 4. something 7 and half miles northeast of the plant almost a direct hit.
    by JMV 5/7/2011 7:48:54 PM

  • Is the red boom gone?
by marie rich 5/7/2011 7:49:24 PM

  • @Nancy there is a thing they refered to in the beging about "liquifing" or some thing...did't sound like it pertained to here....and have not heard anything resent.... but not sure now I will keep my eyes open for it...and see what they were refering to ... because the ground water pumping at "foundations changes things in my perspective.. and you can see a lot of pipe ending at Trenches... not sure were they start at thought
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:51:36 PM

  • @marie rich looks like it is still there in the newer spot or newer height not sure
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:53:29 PM

  • @Nancy if your still there... is it my screen or can you see through the building southwall through to east better now... I also wonder if they have had more small explosions that we don't know about
    by fitter 5/7/2011 7:55:19 PM

  • @fitter there have been random "spotting" of people hearing small explosions but nothing on record or a visual of. It does look like you can see light through the seaside wall on 4 a bit more than in other images
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 7:59:40 PM

  • @marie rich In my screen shot from about an hour ago I can faintly see it. On the current video I can't tell if it is there or not.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:01:00 PM

  • @Nancy are they still having Q&A by reporters... would love to hear explaination of the show today.... for that much "steam" the pools must have been awful hot
    by fitter 5/7/2011 8:01:23 PM

  • @Nancy sorry left out TEPCO or GOV"t conferrences
    by fitter 5/7/2011 8:02:12 PM

  • @Nancy Jim makes fun of me for this, but..If you tilt an lcd monitor at an angle away from you, you get better contrast. Regular teppycam is up and shows the steam from 2.
by marie rich 5/7/2011 8:02:46 PM

  • @you @Nancy you might be able to pick up info by comparing some of the hanging concrete beams or maybe new ones
    by fitter 5/7/2011 8:03:20 PM

  • @fitter I mentioned the ongoing "show" to one reporter I talked to today in case they got the email in time to watch it. I did mention 4's leaning tower imitation to another reporter who didn't have a specific comment. I have a pretty good idea next press conference there may be some questions about what is going on at 4.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:03:38 PM

  • @marie rich I have to mess with my laptop screen to get the display to look right on some of those images. If all else fails I can plug my laptop into the big HD LCD tv. I can get detail on that I can't get on my laptop or LCD monitor.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:05:07 PM

  • Has anyone seen this: twitpic.com I don't know what to make of it. Looks dubious.

by Salvador via Twitpic 5/7/2011 8:05:36 PM

  • Dunno if it will help, changed the contrast a bit on the tippy cam. This is from 5am JST (5 min ago) i1098.photobucket.com

    by Jocke_Jensen via I1098.photobucket 5/7/2011 8:06:04 PM

  • @marie rich you can barely see the steam on 4 in the live cam, it blends into the background.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:06:42 PM

  • @Jocke_Jensen that is great, much better detail.
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:06:59 PM

  • There appears to be some of the upper framework at 3 that has fallen over more than it was. Look at Jocke's picture
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:08:22 PM

  • @Nancy @all
if you got photoshop, simply press ctrl+m to mess around with the contrast of pictures.
    by Jocke_Jensen 5/7/2011 8:08:51 PM

  • by JMV via I1235.photobucket 5/7/2011 8:08:57 PM

  • @Salvador - some of us watched that live around 3 hours ago
    by UKVal 5/7/2011 8:10:10 PM

  • @JMV that was the day they announced the release etc for the 8th
    by Nancy 5/7/2011 8:10:28 PM

  • Post from UKVal on the day; 01May Apologies to those who've seen this but I've just noticed this quake 20 hours ago, which although 'only' Mag 4.5 was almost a direct hit on the nuke plant

  • @Nancy - yes I think there has been a shift in 3 too
    by UKVal 5/7/2011 8:13:14 PM

  • @nancy can you check the distance from stack ot bld 2 (TOP) to the top of 3, on a before older pic and ona new from today,, see if there is movement there
