  • Yuzhnoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant shuts down third reactor for repairs
    Oct 25 at 10:31 | Interfax-Ukraine
Yuzhnoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) disconnected its third reactor from the country's power grid at 06.52 on Oct. 25 to repair the failure, the press service of the national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom reported on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday morning, twelve out of Ukraine's fifteen nuclear reactors were operating.
Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant reactor one and Zaporizhia NPP reactor five are undergoing scheduled repairs. (That answers my question from the previous post.)

  • @Lillymynster About Finland so do they "normally" have slightly higher that others in the north becaouse of Chernobyl - that is what I have heared. I think this is like it uses to be in Finland.
    by Mona 11/13/2011 7:40:28 PM

  • @Mona It seemed like the locations that can find iodine started dropping off last night. Maybe the source has finally slowed or stopped?

  • Hmm. So Zaphorizha shut down yesterday and now the I-131 seems to be dying off in the countries that were seeing it? I though the 1-131 readings had started leaving the EU network, is that what others are seeing?

  • Reactors No.5 and 6 were NOT in cold shutdown after quake, implies report by US nuclear industry--Cooling at Spent Fuel Pool No. 5 stopped until cables installed--Fresh fuel had been loaded into both reactors. Nov 13.2011 enenews.com

  • @all - playing with the data on the EurDep site. T-gamma 1 day, 1 week, 1 month set at maximum values show a gradually lowering level. I-131 doing the same thing is also showing lowering levels (fewer sites showing 1-131 detected). But the two stations near the NPP in Slovenia are constantly high compared to others on every reading for Month-Week or Day
    by lillymunster 11/13/2011 10:05:27 PM

  • The report ENEnews is referencing is the NEI report. TEPCO failed to mention they had a fresh load of fuel in 5 and 6. I have not had a chance to read the NEI report yet.

  • @elainekirk I saw that on Ex-SKF. So far nobody has been able to dig up more information beyond the person making the statement on video. Very worrying.

EX-SKF has the exact translation from TokyoBrownTabby, much clearer than ENEnews's ex-skf.blogspot.com

ENEnews took a bunch of statements and pasted them together out of order and context.
