  • Nuclear policy should be examined based on Constitution: group

    By Keiji Hirano
    TOKYO, Nov. 19, Kyodo

Founders of a pro-constitution group on Saturday stressed the need to examine Japan's nuclear energy policy in line with the war-renouncing principle of the supreme law and in light of the troubles at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

''Our Constitution represents our determination that we will never repeat the huge damage imposed on Hiroshima and Nagasaki,'' Kenzaburo Oe, the 1994 Nobel laureate for literature, said, referring to the two cities obliterated by U.S. atomic-bombings at the end of World War II. ''But we have seen the nuclear disaster in Fukushima.''

The remarks of Oe, one of the nine founders of the Article 9 Association, were made at its national rally in Tokyo, in which some 700 like-minded people participated. english.kyodonews.jp

  • This pins the thorium car on a scam being run by a laser company uvdiv.blogspot.com
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 5:17:32 PM

  • I think the key to cracking the thorium scam is to look into thorium investment schemes
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 5:18:44 PM

  • googling thorium investment gets tons of hits. :-)
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 5:20:05 PM

  • If you create a false demand after you have already bought investments and get tons of people to buy in and jack up the price so you can sell high you have quite a tidy investment.

  • @Edano hmm think I need go google this latest org I think uk must be the fake org capaital of the world
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 7:29:40 PM

  • @elainekirk They seem to be duplicating the same scam in the UK. Try to sell a couple of green energy people, get some govt cash, raise investments in the companies they have stakes in. That Weinberg foundation or trust, the guy that is the head of it is an investor type. Thorium power Inc. under their new name Lightbridge was lobbying UK offcials. whoslobbying.com I also noticed a number of people in Lightbridge's board that appeared to be from the UK so there seems to be a US-UK connection in their scam

    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 7:40:01 PM

  • They are spending huge amounts of cash they don't seem to be taking in? They have ties to the same people/groups pushing thorium in the US. There is a major lack of disclosure in the US that the people touting thorium pretend to be scientists but they all have financial stakes in thorium companies.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:43:05 PM

  • Kirk Sorensen is one of those rabid cheerleaders that started his own thorium company. He has recorded involvement with Weinberg at least to the level of doing stump speeches for them.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:44:02 PM

  • @lillymunster i have the same impression that thorium is a us-uk thing. areva does not appear leading in this context. they contracted lightbridge for their thorium adventure. it sounds funny that weinberg wants to embrace sellafield, now that they got useless after fukushima.
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:45:26 PM

  • Weinberg was originally established as a general charity and to assist people with disabilities - they seem to have been hijacked by the thorium crowd
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:47:53 PM

  • @Edano both ventures seem to be trying to dupe politicians into believing their technology has merit so they can get govt. money. Sellafield would be a perfect target now that regular nukes and MOX are pretty much a failure.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:49:57 PM

  • i think now that thorium is being constructed on the nuclear doubts that arise all over the world. they want to have an alternative to save their industry, they prepare for their worst case. they give it a green paint, but it seems it is not a substantial idea. it still needs uranium and plutonium for the thorium cycle.
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:50:27 PM

  • something like "nuke light".
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:53:08 PM

  • that's how the cigarette and softdrink industry survived so long.
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:54:04 PM

  • @Edano right and they promote it as being able to run on its own. Even their new ideas don't really do that, they still depend on uranium to run. This is total social engineering. They know the average consumer will read something and not research it. So you tell them it is green, will solve all our problems and it is "new". People want to hear something like that and grab onto it without any effort. It is a constant political tactic to say something knowing many won't dig deeper.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:54:05 PM

  • @Edano Now with slightly less death!
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:54:23 PM

  • They are also selling it that a thorium reactor could be "walked away" from and not have a meltdown.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 7:55:03 PM

  • i don't think there is a serious effort to make it work. it is just PR.
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:58:40 PM

  • "nuke zero" is the next step after "light"......
    by Edano 11/19/2011 7:59:30 PM

  • @Edano that would be the nonsense about super heating thorium to run your car. :-)
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 8:02:21 PM

  • @Edano US softdrink makers use almost exclusively corn syrup. When studies came out about how bad it is in many ways came out the corn syrup lobby issued their own studies but didn't mention they funded them and did TV campaigns to tell people corn syrup is great and if you think it isn't your a big jerk. That was literally the take away from the commercials. :-)

  • social engineering... what a field !
    by Edano 11/19/2011 8:05:41 PM

  • it is strange this if I get some stuff together could you make it into an article I am going to see what I can find at companies house because the baroness foundation is registered as a company .orgs are traditionally the domain of charitalble foundations in the uk so it needs looking at
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:11:54 PM

  • @Edano learned lots about it in psych and marketing classes.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 8:11:56 PM

  • @elainekirk yes. If you can compile the info I can put it together and post it. I have been grabbing all the thorium links we all found today also.

  • I made a group YouTube channel. I will send the login for it so people can upload videos to it via email. Let me know if you want the login. www.youtube.com

Will work on uploading all the videos I already have on my hard drive. I tried favoriting ones from my personal youtube account. they seem to show up but I think I have to download/upload to move a copy to the group account. We can put copies of the TEPCO videoes etc in here to have everything in one place and share it out. If anyone has fuku videos they made we can put them here too. www.youtube.com
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 8:25:16 PM

  • It looks like I can do bulk uploads so starting to upload my saved video library.

  • @lillymunster yup incestuous
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:44:18 PM

  • @lillymunster I will go see what I can find I am just trying to find out how a 'foundation' without charitable status can come to be 'launched in the house of lords
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:45:43 PM

  • @elainekirk this whole thing is quite sketchy.
    by lillymunster 11/19/2011 8:47:11 PM

  • @lillymunster I have a bee in my bonnet re fake charities and was expecting this to be one so I am rather gobsmacked myself I have had run ins with lords 'n'ladies with vested interests before but this is quite an eyeopener
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:51:18 PM

  • @lillymunster team thorium only came into being in June looks like an industry response to fuku to me "lets tell the public we have a super duper new nuke that doesnt blow up"
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:52:59 PM

  • I think we should be looking for similar incestuous behaviour in other countries too if this is an industry driven exercise
    by elainekirk 11/19/2011 8:54:03 PM

  • Keep digging on it and keep links etc as you find it. Once you think you have it all sorted in the Uk we can put it together. This stuff just reeks. I have a start on the US side of things and the key players. Starting to find some hints and politicians they were warming up to in order to get some free money
