  • How can we persuade people around you who are threatened by—but trying not to face—the brutal reality?

The issue of the national distribution of radioactively contaminated debris currently opposed by residents in Shimada-shi (Shizuoka Pref.) revealed Minister Hosono’s adamant egoism. Mr.Hosono’s pressure on Shimada-shi to accept the contaminated Fukushima debris despite the protest is illogical and emotional. Mr. Hosono seems to try so hard to defeat the protest of Shimada-shi’s citizens so that he can break through the protest of nuclear waste distribution all over Japan. Mr. Hosono does not appear concerned with the life-threatening danger and unrecoverable contamination from nuclear waste incineration. Ignorant volunteers who are misled by the media and the government are now volunteering to clean up the contaminated areas without proper equipment or even wearing a respirator. And these ignorant people are the ones who would like to accept nuclear waste all over Japan, believing that is to “help” Fukushima and Tohoku. We have to continuously oppose this kind of craziness and insanity based on ignorance. (As common sense, nuclear waste should be handled with utmost care and never should be burned to prevent the escape of contaminated byproducts.) blog.goo.ne.jp

  • Limerick PA Exelon Nuclear plants in the news yet again today: Nuclear Water Practice Extended in Limerick Exelon Nuclear’s “trial” use of using water from a flooded coal mine to augment flow in the Schuylkill River, and thus draw more water from the river than initially envisioned, will enter its eighth year in 2012 without a decision from authorities about making it permanent. snip At the crux of the project is water pumped from a Schuylkill County coal mine which, unlike water from many other Pennsylvania coal mines, is not acidic.

However it is not particularly clean, either.

At times, test results have shown the water pumped from the mine can contain as much as 80 times the safe drinking water level for manganese and 20 times the standard for iron.

Subsequent tests — all testing is conducted by a firm paid by Exelon — have shown lesser amounts.

  • Measurement of airborne fission products in Chapel Hill, NC, USA from the Fukushima I reactor accident. Abstract
We present measurements of airborne fission products in Chapel Hill, NC, USA, from 62 days following the March 11, 2011, accident at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant. Airborne particle samples were collected daily in air filters and radio-assayed with two high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors. The fission products 131I and 137Cs were measured with maximum activities of 4.2 ± 0.6 mBq/m2 and 0.42 ± 0.07 mBq/m2 respectively. Additional activity from 131,132I, 134,136,137Cs and 132Te were measured in the same air filters using a low-background HPGe detector at the Kimballton Underground Research Facility (KURF). arxiv.org *JUST IN* Iodine-131 in eastern US may have exceeded EPA limit The Study above is Enenews' SOURCE. enenews.com

  • Fire breaks out on Russian nuclear submarine

AP THURSDAY 29 DECEMBER 2011 Fire broke out on a Russian nuclear submarine as it was awaiting repairs at an Arctic shipyard, officials said today.

The emergency ministry said there was no radiation leak, or injuries.

It said the fire on the Yekaterinburg nuclear sub resulted from a violation of technological rules.

The fire started while the submarine was sitting in dock for repairs at the Roslyakovo shipyard in the Murmansk region.

A ministry official said a fire engulfed wooden scaffolding at the yard, but refused to give further details.

  • @MaryW I think the hospitals in the no entry zone are all closed... Futuba hospital and others were abandoned after the nuke alert and nobody ever went back. Places like hospitals and schools are in a weird limbo. They still exist as functioning businesses or services but they can't operate because their location is in the evac zone. Unless they are going to start serving the ostriches there are not any patients around either. The hospitals outside the exclusion zone still lack normal patient levels and those who do show up probably can't pay because they are broke waiting for the powers that be to get off their backsides and get people compensated.

There were some private schools that closed or suspended operations because all the students are gone even if they are not in the exclusion zone, anyone with the ability to has left.

  • unflattering review of Deborah Dupre, often seen on fukushima
    www.thepeoplesvoice.org
Deborah Dupre is acknowledged by many to be a disgrace to her “profession” which appears to be an internet reporter. In this capacity many have labeled her a menace to society.
Deborah Dupre is an internet poster who attempts towrite articles on a layperson’s news platform known as Examiner .com.Everyone who was interviewed for this article pointed out that Examiner .comwent into a formal partnership with Thomson Reuters[1] back in December of last year.Reuters Corporate Headquarters is located about a tenth of a mile from BP Corporate Headquarters in the City of London. Many have asked whether Dupre, a paid writer for Examiner, went over to the other side after she began postingarticles and comments which were highly and unjustifiably critical of the various citizens’ movements which have advocated in various capacities for the coastal residents on the Gulf of Mexico.

Even before Reuters went into business with Examiner, Dupre garnered a reputation for writing articles which lacked any kind of research or fact checking, were unprofessionally written to the point of embarrassment, and containedinformation which was either fabricated out of thin air or grossly exaggerated. In a phrase she has been identified as “one of the most irresponsible and immature writers on the internet today.” If you have any doubt about the level of hercommentary or analysis, this author challenges any reader to simply google her name and read her articles. Clearly, they speak for themselves in their childishly sensational tone and content. To call her an author or journalist is anextraordinary stretch by any standard.
Everyone spoke of the poison pen wielded by Dupre and were deeply concerned about her penchant for revenge and retaliation. It was not so much that they feared her; rather many spoke of her irrational and unpredictable behavior which often translated to writing pieces or comments known to be completely untrue and profoundly destructive to the objects of her scorn. One individual who was the subject of her character assassination spoke strongly of the need for Dupre to brought up on criminal charges. In that way it was contended society would be spared her venom and vitriol by keeping her away froma keyboard while doing her time in a prison cell.

  • Office of Prime Minister stopped Nuclear Safety Agency announcing the truth of meltdown. December 29th, 2011. 3/12 2PM ,Vice-Minister of Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency,Nakamura Koichiro announced the possibility of meltdown in reactor 1 at the press conference ... office of Prime Minister ordered the chairman,Terai Nobuaki,to ask a permission from the office of Prime Minister before publishing the truth not to cause a panic ... Vice-Minister of Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency was replaced and the new vice-minister announced that the state of the fuel is unknown. He did not admit meltdown until late April ... Office of Prime Minister also stopped Tepco releasing the actual data not to cause panic.

    DEC. 30, 2011 - 06:46AM JST TOKYO —
Authorities on Thursday began a two-day search along a part of the coast of tsunami-hit Fukushima Prefecture for the bodies of more than 200 people still missing since the March 11 disaster.

Some 60 police officers, wearing protective suits, searched between breakwater blocks in Namie town which is located within the 20-kilometer no-go zone around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, NHK reported.

At other locations, robots equipped with cameras were used to search beneath the water, NHK reported. No bodies were found, authorities said. www.japantoday.com This strikes me as a very, very odd thing to be doing at this time. Could something else be going on?
