Food purchases utilize ODA budget disaster area to aid quake reconstruction

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government aid to developing countries products from earthquake affected areas of eastern Japan (ODA) budget for purchasing, embarked on a study aid for developing countries to apply. I also help plan the reconstruction of the ODA budget for overseas disaster area.

According to the ODA budget for this year's allocation policy, you are considered for purchase, Iwate, Miyagi, processed marine products such as canned Fukushima prefectures. Also consider a priority to disaster areas to accept foreign trainees to learn and Agriculture and Fisheries, also hopes to eliminate the harmful rumor We hope.

ODA to leverage technology to expand overseas and rail infrastructure. To sell overseas advanced seismic technology in Japan, to demonstrate that an emergency stop without the Tohoku Shinkansen derailed by this earthquake. • fukushima-diary.com If i-131 is still showing up in the sewage after "cold shutdown" doesn't that mean that the plant is going to be producing I-131 pretty much until the cows come home? (American expression for forseeable future)
    by artnuke 12/29/2011 11:55:14 PM

  • @artnuke there are some flaws in this logic. They are looking at sewage ash. If it was showing up in air filters and drinking water then I would panic. Look at the numbers in the source cited. One place with the highest i-131 has no cesium in their sewage. That is an indicator the source isn't Fukushima but is likely hospital discharge and patients in the area.

  • Heard on Twitter. So please take them as jokes. I hope they are joking, but I have no reason to expect.
Someone who claims to have heard live in the radio broadcast on December 29 in Japan
Katsuya Okada was involved in a live radio show. A listener asked, "Why not you evacuates children from Fukushima?" Okada said, "Because it costs money ..." I heard the rumors but I do the I never expected myself.
Okada is a high-ranking official in the Democratic Party of Japan. The radio program in which Okada was supposed to utter those words here.
No money to evacuate the children, but a lot of money (2 billion yen) for TEPCO. Well at least Okada was, he said that, honest about it. No money. The Japanese government has no money (public debt to GDP ratio of over 200%), that people outside Japan may be familiar with the Japanese but not from within.
Another "heard of Twitter," the word alleged the mayor of Tomakomai City in Hokkaido, which is extremely willing to accept to burn debris in his city of Miyagi and Iwate disaster wins the cake for sheer rudeness and bad taste:
Someone who evacuated from Sendai, Miyagi in Tomakomai City:
The mayor of the city of Tomakomai is really ignorant and rude. When mothers who evacuated (to affected areas in Tomakomai) gave him a petition that does not burn the debris of the disaster, for the good health of children in the future, he had the nerve to say "I heard that the feces of evacuees spent more as you contaminate the environment with radiation." And he's the mayor.
Well, life is cheap, especially that of children in Japan. The country is finished as a nation.

  • @lillymunster Don't you find the recent info on the web in a different tone than earlier. Meaning, I think a lot of this propaganda is being seen finally by the Japanese victims as just that. For months now they had hope of returning to their evacuated homes, but now maybe the trauma has subsided a little bit, and the radiation contamination is beginning to be realize. These people have been through a lot, not just the nuclear radiation fallout from the plant.
    by MaryW 12/30/2011 1:09:13 AM

  • @MaryW also, if someone had to evacuate their home, they are less connected to news, the internet etc. They are dealing with having their life turned upside down. With time for the chaos to settle slightly they have been able to access what is going on and they are justifiably not happy. There were people in Japan calling thing for what they were all along but they were people who were very connected and informed. We always knew they couldn't keep up the lies forever and gradually time has run out on those early on lies. You can't fake reality, you can't hide an exploding nuclear reactor.

  • Fukushima plant's backup generator failed in 1991

The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant failed to take preventive measures after a backup generator was inundated by a leaking pipe 20 years ago.

Former employees of the Tokyo Electric Power Company told NHK that the problem occurred in October 1991.

They said water leaked from a pipe and entered the basement of the Number 1 reactor's turbine building. This caused the failure of one of the two backup generators.

A former engineer at the Fukushima plant said he told his superiors that tsunami could damage the emergency generators in the basement, as the turbine buildings are close to the sea.

TEPCO installed doors to block water leaks in the rooms hosting the backup generators, but did not move them above ground to avoid tsunami damage.

The plant's reactor cooling system failed when the emergency generators in the basement were inundated by the March 11th tsunami. All power sources were lost.

Japan's Nuclear Safety Commission says it will revise the safety guidelines for designing nuclear plants and require the installation of additional power sources.

  • TEPCO PRESS RELEASE UPDATES December 29.2011. UNIT #3: At 10:23 am on December 29, due to the declining tendency of the suction
pressure of the primary system circulating pump of the spent fuel pool
alternative cooling system of Unit 3, we stopped the pump and then
stopped cooling of the spent fuel pool temporarily to conduct flushing
of the intake side strainer of the pump (water temperature at the
stoppage: approx. 12.4°C). After that we conducted flushing and the
suction pressure of the pump recovered, therefore at 0:09 pm on the same
day, we restarted the pump and resumed cooling of the spent fuel pool
(water temperature at resuming: approx. 12.5°C). OTHERS: UNIT#1 - ... and 1 pm on December 29.
Other two temperature indicators were in gradual increases, but now the
    two are stable.
The second: (Maximum) approx. 34.9°C at 9:00 pm on December 28 →
approx. 34.8°C at 1:00 pm on December 29.
The third: (Maximum) approx. 39.2°C at 1:00 am on December 29 →
approx. 39.2°C at 1:00 pm on December 29.
We are planning to identify cause with monitoring continuously. - At 10:12 am on December 29, TEPCO staff observed a water leakage from
the imperceptive leak in a hose around the concentrated water storage
area of water desalinations (reverse osmosis membrane) while on patrol.
We confirmed that filtrate water*, transferred with the hose from the
filtrate tank to the boiler tank of the evaporative concentration
apparatus, leaked from the water leakage. Just to be safe, we
investigated nuclide analysis for the water, and the nuclide was bellow
measurable limit. After that, we stopped transferring filtrate water,
and filled the hole with tape, and the leaked water is now an average of
a drop every two minutes. We are planning to replace the hose. The leaked
filtrate water will not expand around there because there are no street
    gutters.
