Animal rescue groups in Japan need a few more volunteer Japanese - English translators to help with web page content. Please share around.
The 3.11 Japan Animal Rescue Group facebook page is the official page for the Angels Shiga and SORA shelters, we work very closely with Kimiko Mh who manages the page. She has worked very hard to keep the information current, but she is one person, for two shelters. She needs more translators who can translate from Japanese to English. If you have some time to commit and would like to help these shelters, we urge you to please donate your skills to them. Thank you

I hope 2012 brings some large scale movement of children out of the contaminated areas and some sort of organized relocation system. I hope the prefecture finally takes control of the animal situation in Fukushima so they can finish moving out all the domestic animals. I hope Japan shuts down the remaining reactors and realizes the people were right and they don't need them.

At least they are now admitting that the debris field may be contaminated. There is still a glaring hole in US response. Not one word about testing Pacific seafood.

Check this out. One of the rescue groups posted some images of animals rescued. The number of cats with hair loss, swelling or skin issues on their nose is very unusual. Bad skin problems has been a common complaint for dogs found in the zone. That nose issue these cats have are not something I saw in veterinary practices even one where we dealt with feral cats.
