Construction of nuclear power plant in Fukushima = 1 in cardiopulmonary arrest and transport workers - TEPCO
Tokyo Electric Power Co. on Friday announced that it fell on the afternoon of 60 male workers were engaged in cooperative enterprises in the construction of a sludge storage facility containing radioactive material in the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant. Workers lost consciousness, was transported to総合磐城共立病院Iwaki City in cardiopulmonary arrest.
Workers injected concrete had been working day in the morning. Radiation exposure of 0.052 mSv in the day, adhering to the body there was no radioactive material. (2012/01/09-19: 59)

From TEPCO daily reports:
- At 2:22 pm on January 9, 2012, at the Spent Sludge Storage Facility (*)
which is under construction, a partner company's worker who had been
engaged in concrete placement work reported his physical disorder. He was
carried to the emergency medical room of Unit 5/6 and received medical
treatment. Because he was in cardiopulmonary arrest, he was carried from
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to Iwaki Kyouritsu Hospital at
3:25 pm. No radioactive materials were found to be attached to the worker's
body.
* Spent Sludge Storage Facility: The facility to store radioactive waste
(spent sludge), which is produced during the process of accumulated
water treatment, on a temporary basis.

At 10:04 am on January 9, 2012, because the replacement work of the water
injection piping arrangement from the water feed system in association
with the trial run of reactor injection pump in Turbine Building has been
completed, we have adjusted the amount of injected water to the reactor
gradually. For the amount of injected water to the reactor, we adjusted
water injection from the reactor feed water system from approx. 1.7 m3/h
to 3.0 m3/h, and water injection from the core spray system for approx.
8.1 m3/h to 7.0 m3/h.

How I spent my Sunday in Fukushima
blog.safecast.orgby Deb 1/9/2012 2:34:12 PM

@deb
They need to compare a time period vs. the same time period the previous year or months before FUKU to get a clear idea what ones have actual spikes. Some sites always have lots of high readings even before fuku. What is maybe worse than possible high radiation is how many monitors are offline right now.
by lillymunster 1/9/2012 2:37:03 PM

@lillymunster Yes, noticed all the offline areas, that bothers me too. Have a pregnant daughter in Portland and it pains me that it is offline, arrr! I can go back through my photos, I took a ton of snapshots back in April and May. It seems to me that the readings now are much, much worse than they were in the 2-3 months after the accident.
by Deb 1/9/2012 2:43:02 PM

@Deb Comparisons would be good. There should be a way to pull up a reading for a station for maybe Jan-March of 2011. That should give a really good contrast to see if the readings are actually up above pre-Fuku levels. I know the station in Pierre SD is always high. The one in Rapid City is malfunctioning. If you find something that looks like we really are increasing in the US let me know we can start pulling together data.
The contractor that is managing the stations needs to get fired. There seems to be even more offline than right after fuku. Some have the gamma meter working but so many don't have the beta reader working. We are paying these people and they are simply not doing their job.
by lillymunster 1/9/2012 2:55:41 PM

@lillymunster I will plow through the photos later today or tonight, and see what I come up with. Bakersfield & San Jose are also typically very high.
by Deb 1/9/2012 2:59:11 PM

I also downloaded data files months ago too, just remembering I did that :)
by Deb 1/9/2012 3:00:00 PM

@Ian I read all that yesterday and it made me cry :(
by Deb 1/9/2012 3:00:31 PM

@Deb let me know what you find. I had done some looking at stations and made notes back in maybe October? That was when I noticed all the stations being offline. I think there are more now offline.
by lillymunster 1/9/2012 3:00:31 PM

@Ian Today is just not full of good news. :-(

@lillymunster so true, the news about Fukushima II threw me into a tailspin this morning.
by Deb 1/9/2012 3:04:18 PM

@Deb This has huge implications in the US also. The units at Daini are all ABWR units and the nuke industry keeps claiming they are safer.
