If these workers would have gone swimming in the water, they would be dead. If they drank it, they would be dead. Because they were ONLY standing in it, they got a dose of 2-6 Sv. It's factored in.

Problem was the workers whose boots were overtopped so their skin was in direct contact. Had they been wearing better gear, they would not have those burns.

It is a leg. It's a wound. I worked in healthcare most of my life. The source is EuroNews. Add Japan in the search field, and you will find several videos.

I think that is why Reuters shut down the blog, they had no control over the transfer of information going on. Too bad !!! This is a "tea party" event going on here, we are the new generation of informed computer literate people, and it is very hard now to "pull the wool over our eyes" with disinformation by those that would do that.

It's not the superficial tissue wounds that kill you (unless a large percentage of your skin is affected, e.g. 3rd degree burned over 50% of your body). Acute radiation kills by inflaming deeper tissue, causing multiple organ failure, and overwhelming your body's immune system.

I am implying that the patient in the youtube video is not one of the injured nuke workers, it is obvious that that video has been edited together. There was no credible news agency showing that footage.

@es No prob. THe coefficients for each exposure type is here: www.epa.gov That lists % chance of fatality given exposure type (air, soil, etc.), isotope, distance, and Bq.
