  • @NHK Listener re: INES rating of 7 www3.nhk.or.jp , but the question, as @es raised earlier is which reactor has this new rating ?
    by Reed 4/11/2011 10:27:10 PM

  • @Reed thank you does it have to be reactor specific???
    by elainekirk 4/11/2011 10:27:57 PM

  • @elainekirk It has been by reactor in the past. The lack of specifically designating a reactor in this new information makes me worry that it's for the entire power plant.
    by Reed 4/11/2011 10:29:59 PM

  • @elainekirk Officials from the agency and the Nuclear Safety Commission will hold a news conference on Tuesday morning to explain the change of evaluation.

  • @elainekirk TEPCO is injecting nitrogen gas into the reactor 1 containment vessel to reduce the possibility of a hydrogen explosion. TEPCO plans to inject nitrogen into the containment vessels of reactors 2 and 3, the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum reported. www.nei.org
by NHK Listener 4/11/2011 10:53:32 PM

  • @elainekirk I seen your pic but didn't understand the question.
by George Gibb 4/11/2011 10:59:25 PM

    by elainekirk 4/11/2011 11:02:43 PM

  • @me Yep...that pretty much says it all. Level 7. Most of us believed some time ago that they were going to have to go to the top level.
by James Ward 4/11/2011 11:03:10 PM

  • @George no worries @NHK has explained it :)
    by elainekirk 4/11/2011 11:05:03 PM

  • @elainekirk oh ok
by George Gibb 4/11/2011 11:05:25 PM

  • @elainekirk TEPCO is continuing to attempt to demonstrate that they're doing everything they can to correct the problems at Fukushima even though they know behind closed doors that the facility is doomed.
by James Ward 4/11/2011 11:05:50 PM

  • @James does this mean that tomoro we will get yet another set of data contradicting all the other sets of data teliing us ....
    by elainekirk 4/11/2011 11:06:14 PM

  • @James Ward : finally we are allowed to compare chernobyl and fukushima here.
    by me 4/11/2011 11:08:32 PM

  • @me still a bad comparison - I think this one will be an 8 or 9
by George Gibb 4/11/2011 11:09:36 PM

  • I think they should convert the plant into a fuel rod termination plant, using ionization and reverse osmosis, etc... They have plenty of rods to start off with right there!
    by FradyKat 4/11/2011 11:09:53 PM

  • NHK isn't live or they be reporting the quake just now coming across twitter
by Veen Oui 4/11/2011 11:13:28 PM
