Yes. eurad is the only one I could find with anything new, and only cesium.... but those original tri-l3v3l cesium models are scary enough, and bang on so far.

@all What are the EPA radiation exposure limits for food, milk, air and water? I apologize if it has already discussed and posted. I'm just tired of the look away, look away theme.

@LM We are going to put up the international levels and it varies by a lot. Depends, I guess, on which government thinks you are safe, or less at risk as the case may be.

@Bobby1 I just hope the EPA starts releasing more CA drinking water data. Up until 2 days ago they hadn't released any drinking H2O data from CA or Arizona ( still nothing for AZ) and I decided to contact them directly. I opened up a ticket and the next day they had data for LA. I'm definitely NOT satisfied.

There was a spike in plant emissions recently when Tokyo levels went way up. It was after reactor #1 went to max radiation levels. That plume hasn't reached the US yet.

@Bobby1 I agree. The San Diego air monitoring station didn't have any real data until A week ago...really pathetic. I'm sure they're not testing us...we get most of our water from the Colorado river after it's passed through a superfund site and that coupled with Fukushima means trouble.

@elainekirk Found this on the Physics forum.. Tepco states (page 9) that the storage capacity of all fuel pools at Fukushima as 8310 fuel assemblies,
that is 1444 fuel assemblies can be stored at each units 2 to 5, based on SFP volume. www.nirs.org However, SPF4 had 1331+204 = 1535 fuel assemblies stored which is more than stated capacity! Tepco (page 35) www.nisa.meti.go.jp

@LM You have probably been ground zero so far, though it will shift north. I'm going to order a reverse osmosis water purification system. I've been drinking bottled water for years but I am switching to tap.

@Bobby1 We drink filtered tap but I'd like to improve the quality of the process myself. Bottled water isn't really verifiable anyway.

@LM Bottled water is likely worse than tap now, or will be soon. Unless you get Fiji, but it is expensive.

@LM: I'm in Los Angeles, we are having some wild winds tonight - are you? Also are you or anyone you know having low grade headaches or burning sinus lately? @LM thanks good to know. We have too. We had torrential rains just as the first plume arrived and due to house leaks had to spend time out in it managing drainage issues. @Bobby1 - I know, I have told everyone I know about the dangers. And continue to. Few will listen. It's over the threshold of conception. Or something.

@Bobby1 Yep. They mostly all know by now they're lied to. And I think also those who are in the comfortable trance state, from the hum of their Teevees... don't want to emerge from it into that cold and hostile of an environment. And feeling powerlessness does not seduce them!

@Bobby1 - I guess it depends on what the function of the comfortable trance is... blocking or deepening. On that note, I need to send myself to a comfortable trance state of sleep now so I can face the wind tunnels of LA tomorrow - have to spend the morning outdoors and not looking forward to it. @lisat131- no not really .. we are just so Pacific Rim that we get the drop off of elements on its first stop just about, cept Alaska.

From my research it appears activated charcoal works reasonably well on I131, not sure about other isotopes. But it will become less effective quickly the more contaminants it has to remove. I understand RODI (Reverse Osmosis Deionization) is the only sure thing for all isotopes. Your local pet store may sell RODI water for use in marine tanks. Mine does.

@Bev I had been taking 250 mgs of activated charcoal in capsule form on and off. Started up again after 4-11. Maybe it will 'take the edge off'...
