@Bobby1 Now that is interesting. I have learned a lot about the NRC lately, and it seems to me like Gregory Jaczko has really threatened the rest of them with a lot of his decisions and opinions on safety etc. Seems to me like they are gunning for him, and he seems to be the only one with public safety in mind. If he enacted an emergency state it is because of something he knows which we don't....and the others don't want us to know it either.

There should have been detailed maps and alerts, with concentrations of isotopes over every part of the US, as soon as it happened. Where is it? NOAA has a huge capability for this sort of thing.

@wrshpr I'm married to an Alex Jones enthusiast. I've shot his stupid conspiracy crap down for a decade. I'm experienced and absolutely dulled by the the latest greatest FEMA camp sky is falling BS. However, I'm able to look at facts and accept that they might not be facts just because they have the backing of the USG.

RADnet for Florida has barely worked this entire time. Now the EPA's site says they found cesium and iodine in Orlando but nothing detected in Tampa. No way is that possible.

@all - here is our local geiger in Santa Monica that's been averaging around 40 reading. Just now it reads 54 tonight. The winds are kicking up like crazy here, might be that. For the person asking about her family in LA, this site has plenty of locals posting on it offering information about food and where to buy it. @KT39 It is possible if Orlando experienced rain and Tampa did not. And yes, I agree with you on the equipment in Fla. It's been light blue (under review) everytime I've checked it.

@lisat131 They also recommend Organic Valley non fat dry milk but to buy it now as the current batch would be pre contamination. This company has made a pledge to check their products for radiation also... you can get it in the market or online. Packs about 2 mos in advance so good to get some to store maybe if they use dairy.

@lisat131 The EPA collected the data for 3/24. Personally, I saw a haze move in like I've never seen and smelled (Yes there was an odor in the air of metal and sulfur!) on 3/21.

@Bobby1, yeah I know. But my cereal in the morning! Maybe almond or soy milk. Something strange, the local geiger I just posted has gone offline but just before I saw the for the first time a small "radiation contamination" fine print flashing on the bottom of the screen, it was at 56 I think. Then went back and it's gone totally. Strangeness tonight. OK I think I'll just blame the wind for that too and go to bed!
