@madrat I think they might be but we need to be really picky about making sure they are ascribed to the right plant and reactor. There are a bunch of general information images online I have seen incorrectly ascribed to Daiichi that if you go back to the source of the image states it as something else. Physicsforum had a bunch like that. bad info in = bad info out. The image in the syracuse link I think is correct as from the plant. I found it cited to one of the reactors this morning in a news article about the plants.

@Nancy Agreed, far too much speculation floating around. I'm going to have a look at the 3D model again tommorow, let me know if you are able to confirm whether that new drawing of the reactor floor is correct. Thanks all & goodnight!

@Edano @Markfm FYI this drawing is rev #5 the the rev's stated in the 90's and the rev is 2002 the building size may have changed, one of the design flaws was in the torus being to small to acomadate the relief valve off the steam I belive, #1 being the first one built may or not have a smaller torus... the building or moving off center may have something to do with the torus.... BTW does anyone know what the refernce to "sand???" at the bottom were it sits on the foundation means?

@fitter : there is a reference on the blueprint in japanese. and i think mark 1 reactor in daiichi #1 was the first in japan.

@radioguy : thx (flushing). i don't think that the other reactors are very different. the torus will always be centered, because it is the biggest element. and the contaiment will be centered to the torus as well. so the only differences should be the size of the parts, but nut much their positions.

@VeenOui I wondered if there is an archive of the TEPCO webcam shots? It would be an interesting exercise to flip through them quickly to view a month-plus of changes in 30 seconds.

@radioguy : maybe the torus is not round, more ovale, but it will still be centererd, the containment as well. but that is my opinion on a logical point of view. i don't see a reason for not centering the elements, makes construction the easiest.

@VeenOui Yes, the smoke does not look happy (and it doesn't look as much like steam to me as smoke, but I don't "read" smoke. I know someone who does, though, but I can't imagine he could do much with a webcam shot.

The thing that bothers me, is the report on NHK..you guys need to see it.despite water cyphened i think 400 tons or so, the water level in the trenches went right back up...ok now.last week the level was 92 cm to surface, than no word on cyphening till yesterday....so where did the daily 200.000 gallon flow go ?
Today they said cesium @ 1 30x limit and on 2 8x limit....
Than they showed them messuring temps and clearly, it is open skies and is boiling, so that to me means radiactive fumes are being constantly released.BUT now News releases?....and as the others said, it's been clear 2 or 3 days and today this and increasing 3 hours straight ??

Uhm, i forgot, so they cyphened yesterday "82cm" 600 tons and today the level is right back to 81cm to surface.so in one day the same level...do the math..where did the water go all week ......they said they didn't dump anymore into the ocean.something is way off here

They've said on Kyodo that #1 is believed to have a 'leak' because pressure isn't going up fast enough. Huh? I think they must be refering to containment vessel and not RVP, and the pressure data supports that
