@radioguy SFP on the left end of the building. The hot spots across the lower wall to the right are the $1000 question. I am going to be working more on equipment placement on #4 and re-reviewing images of 4 looking for more answers. Hope I find something of use. But whatever is spread across the work floor gets hot, cools down when they spray it and heats up again. I see them spraying down into the SFP and also spraying across towards those hot spots in different pics and video

@Nancy. MCCs are usually located as close to the motors or processes they control. Process can be anything from HVAC (heating, ventilation and airconditioning) to waste water treatment and anything in between you can think of. Sorry for delay in reply. About half way through the article on Small Nuclear Power Reactors.

@DonnerT I know little about those kinds of things so any help is very useful. I am assuming they could have controlled motors for the water inlet systems also?

Thanks Dean. I should be able to pull some things out of those images. The distortion on those thawk photos is frustrating. It scatters the pixels degrading the image at the base level.

@ifz #4's cap was stored off to the side for maintenance. so not bolted to anything. They probably just duct taped it on when they used it anyways. :-)

@nhk darn good pics why are tepco suddenly giving info out? maybe they are trying the "look what we are up against we need sympathy and understanding you must be able to see how unfortunate we were..." tactic so people don't think they have pratted about for the past month

@elainekirk I mentioned this yesterday, I complain about lack of images and they seem to show up an hour later. This morning I was complaining about a lack of building images. Ta-da a few hours later they show up. Odd. So um, ahem. I really could use some big high resolution images of the interiors of the reactor floors. :-)

Using the UC Berkeley milk sampling data at www.nuc.berkeley.edu , if one assumes that the rate of increase in Cs-137 levels remains constant, milk bottled today would have a concentration of Cs-137 at 391 pCi/l, which is almost 100% higher than the EPA level of 4 mrem/yr.

@Bobby1 that is exactly what got me worried a few weeks ago. The EPA etc tend to post iodine data, tell everyone it is less than a plane ride (avoiding the internal ingestion issue) and ignore the things that can continue to build up with long half lifes

What is really alarming is Dr. Saji's estimate of Sr-89 inventory at Fukushima, which is 13 times as high as that of Cs-137, and for which the EPA Sr-89 limit is one-tenth that of Cs-137.
