@Optim I agree, they don't have any control at 4 other than the crane. We see them watering during the day frequently. I don't get it. 57 is too warm to see that kind of steam due to cool air
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:34:53 PM
@Nancy, #3 not the same as before, steam was just lightly coming out of the top, now it is heavy out of bottom or where reactor would be, just behind the tower??
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:35:08 PM
@wtm That is similar to what it did on Saturday.
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:35:33 PM
I turned off video, it was heating up my vid card on my laptop. If it does something epic again let me know so I can grab screen captures
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:36:15 PM
no-they did not get a capture of the explosion that they claimed had small mushroom--but there might have been some vid of right after-what I was describing-it was the thick black smoke on 3-then 4 started with white smoke etc. (while u guys were talking about earthquake) Lucas Hixson may have got vid right after not sure
by anon 5/11/2011 6:36:18 PM
How long before daylight there ?
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:36:21 PM
@wtm: 30-40 mins...
by Optim 5/11/2011 6:36:43 PM
I don't know how it can be fog with the wind blowing as it appears to be doing. 57 degrees is the ambiant temp. of caves, and I've never seen by breath in a cave, or my basement. Maybe they opened up the fire extinguishing lines as much as they could go.

3:36 am
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:37:02 PM
@marie rich 4 doesn't have a fire line working. No visible crane either.
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:37:51 PM
if it is similar to sat-is it possible it could be a low res loop of sat? I notice there is abrupt transition from night to day and certain patterns of birds during day have been identical to previous days-also weather has been wrong sometimes (ex bright sun when people said it was overcast) which makes me not check live feed too often as i am not sure how 'live' it is
by anon 5/11/2011 6:39:18 PM
@Nancy I've been watching it off and on tdy while doing chores. The vapor was white- not grey.
by marie rich 5/11/2011 6:40:15 PM
It had to be some intentional exercise... IT was too synchronized to not to be. It looks "business as usual" right now since it's pretty close to sunrise..
by Optim 5/11/2011 6:41:04 PM
@Nancy, before had the steam out of top of building, now if looks like it is below at least one level of building coming from center of building.
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:41:53 PM
From the SFP.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:42:41 PM
Nvm that is from #3 that is the reactor.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:43:39 PM
@Ralph, SFP was to the right of the tower, reactor is center on the tower.
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:43:59 PM
#4 is the SFP.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:44:13 PM
Either had a explosion or they are doing a massive vent !!
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:45:16 PM
Be interesting if that much steam is coming out when the sun rises.
by Markfm 5/11/2011 6:46:13 PM
@Ralph Unger Actually, the later CCD designs reduce infra-red and near infra-red sensitivity to a minimum so that it does not affect the quality of the picture. Although it still has infra-red sensitivity it is almost negligible when some source of light is present. Those cameras show almost nothing in pitch dark which means they were not designed to track heat. However, and you are very right, we cannot underestimate the possibility of some image distortion due to heat sensing. Maybe you're getting closer to explaining these images and videos.

I use ccd's with my telescope.

Geiger counter in Honolulu. 2 Roentgens per hour? That is 238 millisieverts/hr. ??? www.youtube.com
by Bobby1 5/11/2011 6:49:06 PM
@Ralph Unger And have you tried to track heat with them at night to see if it resembles what we see in these footage? You could actually set up an experiment in your house to check that out for us.
by Pedro Jesus 5/11/2011 6:49:15 PM
Good idea Pedro, I will try to do that.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:49:58 PM
live feed-here we go
by anon 5/11/2011 6:50:45 PM
Cam looking strange/bad again.
by Mina 5/11/2011 6:50:46 PM
Now I gotta find my cam, I have 3 or 4 of them. But I moved in the last couple of years.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:51:22 PM
MAssive steam/smoke again?
by Optim 5/11/2011 6:52:07 PM
don't you think it's time to get a mask & air filters if you are in no hemi?? protect yourselves-you have the knowledge-take advantage to help your family
by anon 5/11/2011 6:52:15 PM
Found one, I think it is IR only though. I got RC cars with cams , I will use one of them.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:52:32 PM
this time it's more prevalent. Sun rising maybe?
by Optim 5/11/2011 6:53:03 PM
Holy *&&^ I can't see anything again. Optim did you see it build back up?
by Nancy 5/11/2011 6:53:35 PM
#3 looked like a smouldering massive HEAP !
by wtm 5/11/2011 6:53:49 PM
All I see on the night cam is artifacts from compression.
by Ralph Unger 5/11/2011 6:53:57 PM
@markfm some data in here is there any you haven't captured? www.tepco.co.jp @nancy too up to date for your present project but some pics
by elainekirk 5/11/2011 6:54:09 PM
Cam was pretty clear for a while, lots of smoke, steam or something from #3
by WolfDK 5/11/2011 6:54:45 PM
@NAncy:Nope..It was fine and then it suddenly went bad..I have been looking at it almost twice every minute
Yes it started smoking more and more and then very fast it turned like we see it now.
by Mina 5/11/2011 6:58:02 PM
The night vision camera is not equipped to handle sunshine. That's why it's looking this bad..Could this be the case?
by Optim 5/11/2011 6:58:12 PM
I can still see the smoke. Idk if they cut the lights, lost the lights due to failure, or if the smoke is blanking out the screen. But there is still gradations of grey- you can see the darker ground.
