    by elainekirk 5/29/2011 12:13:04 AM

  • @Angie I think I've tracked down the person who was given the letter by the Fukushima mother. Awaiting confirmation. I've half written it & will post draft tomorrow - needs more thought than I have brain for tonight. Need lots more names though
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:13:26 AM

  • @UKVal I will throw you an email as well! Oh it was asked yesterday if this was just for our group or if it could be shared on FB to drum up more names?
    by Angie 5/29/2011 12:14:28 AM

  • @Elaine
I think the family is draging me out today.......maybe modless unless @Alblee is around.......
    by Angie 5/29/2011 12:15:43 AM

  • @Angie I think the more names the better - I've left 'who we are' deliberately vague to encompass non bloggers. I've trawled a few via a post on my FB
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:15:53 AM

  • @UKVal Awesome so I can tell people they can try and get names then?
    by Angie 5/29/2011 12:16:46 AM

  • @Angie fine by me -hope it's ok by people here. I've begun with 'we are people from across the world who have come together out of concern for...' so not just this blog.
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:17:57 AM

  • @Angie actual wording thus far is 'We are people from across the world drawn together in shared concern for the suffering of the people of Japan, first from the quake and tsunami and now from the continuing nuclear incident at Fukushima Daichii'....
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:19:05 AM

  • @UKVal I think thats a great start! I am sure what ever you write will be great!
    by Angie 5/29/2011 12:19:32 AM

  • @Angie I'll try... but need more coffee & more brain than at present
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:20:27 AM

  • @Angie I have written another couple of paras, but will post tomorrow
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:21:22 AM

  • @UKVal sounds good! Its hard to write at night sometimes lol
    by Angie 5/29/2011 12:21:51 AM

  • @Angie - yes it's past my bedtime...
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:24:43 AM

  • @UKVal let me know how I should word something to send around. I know a few places that would likely provide some signatures.
    by Nancy 5/29/2011 12:26:05 AM

  • @Nancy ty. How about 'We are responding to the appeal made by a mother in Fukushima in the attached letter. We wish to write a letter in support, signed by people from across the world for submission to the GoJ. We hope to collect as many signatories as possible via publicity in all forms of media. We ask for your support in this. If you are willing to add your voice please email ukval7@btopenworld.com with your name & country of residence.''' ..or words to that effect. Sorry running out of steam here, it's been a long day..
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:38:51 AM

  • @UKVal going to the doc tomorrow.
    by Nancy 5/29/2011 12:49:39 AM

  • @elainekirk yes I am on FB but rarely use & then only to keep in touch with daughter nieces & nephews etc. I have to be a bit careful due to my work so do not let many people know I'm on there. . I have posted the letter there & it's drawn a few responses but it won't go far. I'd willingly give you my FB details if you email me...
    by UKVal 5/29/2011 12:53:13 AM

  • @Nancy If it's sinuses I swear by eucalyptus & lavender oils (steam inhalation)

    by dean 5/29/2011 1:03:59 AM

  • @dean I think I have some at home. Been taking the fake sudafed stuff but doesn't seem to be doing anything, may have to pull out the good stuff and see if it breaks this loose.
    by Nancy 5/29/2011 1:04:28 AM

  • @smoss Morning! @Nancy Oh I hope you feel better soon nothing worse!! @dean hi!

    by dean 5/29/2011 1:09:23 AM

  • hi @ Angie
    by dean 5/29/2011 1:09:31 AM

  • @dean Lately a comment that you made over on Reuters has been bouncing around in my brain. We you the one who, off handedly, suggested surgical nuclear strikes on the reactors, as a way to end criticality?
    by smoss 5/29/2011 1:10:43 AM

  • @smoss, I checked back and saw you were trying to find the vid. Tbs seems to pull their vids without a trace. Thanks for trying anyway. After a long search, I found the waves footage somewhere else: www.youtube.com
by Peter Melzer 5/29/2011 1:14:18 AM

  • @smoss, he did! He wanted to sink the whole mess into one deep nuke hole, I recall.
by Peter Melzer 5/29/2011 1:16:08 AM

  • smoss..one of the options that I had was drilling strategic holes around the reactor buildings and then detonating a timed detonation which would engulf the reactors...
    by dean 5/29/2011 1:17:13 AM

  • it wouldn't be a nuclear explosion .. just TNT
    by dean 5/29/2011 1:18:36 AM

  • the idea came from back when the PLOWSHARES idea was being looked into
    by dean 5/29/2011 1:19:09 AM

  • @dean Would just TNT stop any re-criticality?
    by smoss 5/29/2011 1:19:19 AM

  • hi Peter..
