@Pedro Jesus I will play around with it and let everyone know. If we get a bunch of us using it and it has share features we could categorize and share the giant piles of data many of us have.

@Pedro Jesus if you "save" a document into Springpad can you download a copy of that document to your hard drive?

enenews.com details also emerged about an unrelated accident on Friday, when a contract worker slipped into a pool above the unit 2 reactor, now offline for maintenance, while trying to retrieve a flashlight.
The man, whose name Edison declined to release, was not injured, and did not suffer harmful radiation exposure, but might have ingested the mildly radioactive water, Alexander said. No internal contamination was found.

fukushima-diary.com the holocaust by the government, Japanese citizens are still trying to save their younger generation.
On 12/7/2011, they made a map of urine test result.
Parents can have their children take urine test and post it on the map, so you can compare where is more risky or not in terms of internal exposure.
There are some questions such as “I took care about food for children so much but the result was not good as I expected.” etc..
In order to find a hint for those questions, there is a details list on the site too.
Because it’s a new site, not so much data are uploaded but I personally find it a great attempt.

I have the web page with the urine tests open via a translator. The interactive map is easy to understand with results. What is really concerning is the urine results are literally "all over the map". There will be a high result up near the plant but equally high or higher around Tokyo so kids far far away are showing high tests. I will do some more reading to see if they note where the child was during the early days of the disaster. It would be important to know if they were in Tokyo the entire time or if they are families that moved after the disaster.
If you click on a result on the map and then click the text link in the pop up window it gives a total detailed report about each child including where they were during the disaster weeks, diet and a bunch of other details. Whomever coordinated this knows what they are doing. :-)
The question is what is the more efficient way to handle the data in here. I get a pretty good automatic translate via Chrome
All results on the map are bq/kg

www.usnews.com U.S. Should Bring an End to the Nuclear Era
Nuclear power is prohibitively expensive, and the fiasco at Fukushima will only make it more so. When Progress Energy first proposed a new nuclear plant in Florida, the price tag was $2.5 billion to $3.5 billion dollars. The cost has since ballooned to as much as $22.5 billion, and
Progress just negotiated a settlement that would allow it to kill the construction contract. Several other corporations that applied for new reactors have already
asked government regulators to suspend their reviews.
Is there a way we can figure out who had the govt suspend reviews?
by lillymunster 2/3/2012 8:14:16 PM

@lillymunster I will go look see if I can find a way
by elainekirk 2/3/2012 8:16:25 PM

Dear Sir or Madam:
In Reference 1, Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) submitted a combined License
Application (COLA) to construct and operate a new nuclear plant at the Grand Gulf
Nuclear Station (GGNS) site near Port Gibson, Mississippi. The letter accompanying the
license application requested that Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) invoices for
COLA reviews be addressed to NuStart Energy Development, LLC (NuStart) pursuant to
agreements between the applicant and NuStart.
In Reference 2, Entergy submitted a COLA to construct and operate a new nuclear plant
at the River Bend Station (RBS) site near St. Francisville, Louisiana. The letter
accompanying the license application identified the point of contact for correspondence
and invoicing as Mr. Jerry Burford, the Entergy RBS COLA project manager.
In Reference 3, Entergy requested that the NRC suspend review of the Grand Gulf Unit 3
(GG-3) and RBS Unit 3 (RBS-3) COLAs until further notice pbadupws.nrc.govby elainekirk 2/3/2012 8:20:42 PM

ooh that was quick! They did it on March 31 2011.
by lillymunster 2/3/2012 8:24:10 PM

The nuke operators don't even believe the BS they are pushing to the public :-)
by lillymunster 2/3/2012 8:26:14 PM

this is interesting licencing-v-nrc
MEMORANDUM AND ORDERThe NRC Staff has appealed the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board’s order denying a
motion for summary disposition filed by the applicant, Progress Energy Florida, Inc. (Progress),
in this combined license (COL) proceeding.1 As discussed below, we deny review because the
order is not ripe for review under our rules of practice.

@elainekirk I fully expect a class action lawsuit against Progress if the state of FL doesn't recind the "pay in advance" nuclear reactor law. Progress is still collecting money for that plant and can keep it all even if it never gets built. This is the same company that broke their reactor at Crystal River trying to do a DIY job and damaged the containment structure. You DIY tile in your bathroom, not major construction on the containment building...
by lillymunster 2/3/2012 8:32:21 PM

this is Sept 2010 so maybe nerves were already fraying
(Of the 18 applications for combined construction
and operating licenses, five applicants have requested that the NRC suspend its review of their applications given changing business
strategies.) docs.google.comby elainekirk 2/3/2012 8:33:36 PM

@lillymunster that is barmy
by elainekirk 2/3/2012 8:35:45 PM

@elainekirk there have been a number of experts saying that the nuclear renaissance was bluster and "over" about the time Obama took office.

@lillymunster yes dead on its feet but they want to keep pretending because without the comps getting new investment funding coming through they are left with having to budget for ancient plants and piles of waste for ever with no reward .... they are getting bitten on the bum
by elainekirk 2/3/2012 8:43:19 PM

@elainekirk I think all the big companies like Entergy etc are publicly traded. Their stock price would tank.
by lillymunster 2/3/2012 8:49:21 PM

The NRC insists they are not in the business of promoting nuclear power. That brochure sure looks like more promotion than regulation.
