03 minutes at 00 February 07, 2012 (translate) TEPCO six days, but increase the amount of water injection in the problem of bottom temperature reactor pressure vessel of Unit 2 nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Tokyo Electric Power Company has been a rise, has announced that the state continues still around 70 degrees. TEPCO has been "as a whole furnace is Hiyase enough" and.
Stopped state of cold nuclear reactor, the condition generally be kept below 80 degrees, including the error. Country, "It has risen only one of the three thermometers in the same height in the pressure vessel" as, and does not affect the stopped state well beyond the 80 degree cold for this incident shows a perspective.

  • Change the flow of water rising ... pressure vessel No. 2, to 71 degrees? (translated) Change the flow of water rising ... pressure vessel No. 2, to 71 degrees? 5 days TEPCO announced that it had again begun to rise from around 2 the temperature of the reactor pressure vessel bottom of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Unit 2.

Although considered has changed the flow of water for cooling the molten fuel, detailed cause is unknown. TEPCO has been gradually increasing the amount of cooling water from 3 days, the effect is not evident.

Temperature on the bottom of the pressure vessel of Unit 2 is less than or equal to 100 degrees in September last year, dropped to 45 degrees on January 27. However, there are three of the thermometer, rise into the one in February, 71.7 degrees was recorded at 4:00 pm five days. Thermometer of the other two that remains of around 45 degrees.

  • @eyes I had thought by the governments' secrecy attitude, is to why there was a no-fly zone originally established. Now they are making it look like it had to due with radiation levels? I don't get it :)
    by MaryW 2/6/2012 6:51:04 PM

  • If that is the case, Japan gov is more concern with radiation effects on aircraft and personnel, compared to their concern on the people in the no-go-hot zone.
    by MaryW 2/6/2012 6:53:03 PM

  • @MaryW I remember commercial flights were changed soon after the disaster to avoid radiation. They made said flights go around the area. That was one of those things I never heard if it was ended. It seems odd they would review now when they have claimed lower emissions for months?
    by lillymunster 2/6/2012 6:57:51 PM

  • @lillymunster It makes it a more scary situation at this time

    by dean 2/6/2012 10:47:24 PM

  • @dean that is a point re the snow
    by elainekirk 2/6/2012 10:51:00 PM

  • I have seen some snow on the cam off and on. Fukushima in general seems to have had a steady run of cold weather and moderate snow. The west side of the island and up north in Aomori have gotten lots of snow. Comments about the plant is the weather is unusually cold thus confounding the freezing pipes.

  • Matt Stein interviewed by Alex Jones covers the major risk factor for nuclear power. I once thought I was the only person to notice this risk, a massive solar flare knocking out the grid (well known risk) and that then causes dozens of nuclear meltdowns by way to total station blackouts. Micho Kaku talks about the risk of massive solar flares, but has never tied in the nuclear factor, that I've seen.
