by Sinthia Domina 3/27/2011 3:32:59 AM
how do you get the pic to zoom?
by Nancy 3/27/2011 3:33:01 AM
@Nancy I think all bets are off. They have been lying about everything.
by Jim Carver 3/27/2011 3:33:22 AM
@Tenzing : well, it's a good news and no lie ! celebrate this news !
by Matsuoko 3/27/2011 3:33:28 AM
Looks like black smoke in the pic...
by Sinthia Domina 3/27/2011 3:33:30 AM
@nancy Save to your computer and use the software on your computer to zoom.

@ALL, fyi ... modding will be temporarily down for a couple of hours or so. Thanks for your patience. Approval of new followers will commence shortly afterwards.
by alblee 3/27/2011 3:34:12 AM
Meretisa: I agree it's very upsetting, but all we can really do is sit and watch.
by Natalie 3/27/2011 3:34:25 AM
Look closer, is it the lighting or am i missing the Big White Building next to the tower in its original state ?
by VeenOui 3/27/2011 3:34:29 AM
@Matsuoko That is truly a positive attitude :)
by Tenzing 3/27/2011 3:35:10 AM
@Veen I think that is is the sun on the building in the second shot.
by NiteSpawn 3/27/2011 3:35:33 AM
Veen: Its the lighting. If you look, the tower is also in shadow in the first picture, and not in the second. I thought a cloud moved.
by Natalie 3/27/2011 3:35:42 AM
@VeenOui : should be reactor #2 with sun and without sun.
by Matsuoko 3/27/2011 3:36:13 AM
The building near the middle tower looks very bright.
by JMV 3/27/2011 3:36:15 AM
This on Kyodo - NEWS ADVISORY: Water in No. 4 reactor less radioactive than in other reactors: agency (12:20) Um I thought 4 had an empty reactor...
by Nancy 3/27/2011 3:37:28 AM
I'm noticing the shape of the building next to the tower change, substantially. It started as a square but its sloped down in the second image. Does anyone else see this or is just me?
by Grizzly 3/27/2011 3:37:49 AM
Someone eariler asked why we weren't hearing about 5 and 6. IAEA: Unit 5 The reactor remains in cold shutdown. Off-site power has been restored. The reactor water temperature increased to 43.8 degrees Celsius.26 March. Unit 6 The reactor remains in cold shutdown. Off-site power has been restored. The reactor pressure vessel water temperature decreased to 21.3 degrees Celsius.
by Natalie 3/27/2011 3:38:06 AM
I mean not the building at the base but the building next to that building, lol
by Grizzly 3/27/2011 3:38:26 AM
Hi All! I read that they are pumping water from #1, 2, 3, & 4 and storing in the turbine condensors. Has anything else happened today? TIA
by Karen Warren 3/27/2011 3:38:41 AM
@Karen Warren : yeah, they put the light on in some building.
by Matsuoko 3/27/2011 3:39:34 AM
@Nancy They most likely meant the spend fuel pool.
by Natalie 3/27/2011 3:39:38 AM
Woohoo, Matsouko <insert sarcastic grin here>
by Karen Warren 3/27/2011 3:40:12 AM
.I got the pictures pasted into two separate PAINT applications and MAX ZOOM..this is not the same.... to me...
by VeenOui 3/27/2011 3:40:16 AM
@VeenOui I agree wit Natalie. The sun in moving from the east China to the west Pacific so the light is changing from the south to the north and the highlights change. Notice how the trees in the foreground have less light.
by Tenzing 3/27/2011 3:40:23 AM
@Karen, heard same thing and wondered what the plan was when they run out of condenser volume.
by Alaskan 3/27/2011 3:40:24 AM
@Karen Warren : well, it was a breaking news, so big thing ...
by Matsuoko 3/27/2011 3:40:56 AM
@VeenOui can you post the pictures you modified?
by Tenzing 3/27/2011 3:41:00 AM
Nooooo, don't focus on the building changing color because of the sun hitting it...focus on the building next to that. Where did the top of it go?
by Grizzly 3/27/2011 3:41:27 AM
I think the building #1 roof is distorted by smoke.
by JMV 3/27/2011 3:41:34 AM
I just saw this on twitter - no link to it in print. ' hide_yuki7 hideyuki @地震怖い Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that whether plutonium leaked was not measured. #nuclear #Fukushima #Japan" - they are not checking for plutonium leaking?? "
by Nancy 3/27/2011 3:41:35 AM
@Nancy Another lie.
by Jim Carver 3/27/2011 3:42:20 AM
I see it too Grizzly
by openmind 3/27/2011 3:42:27 AM
@openmind I'm glad I'm not going crazy, lol
by Grizzly 3/27/2011 3:42:38 AM
@Veen. Paint isn't a good program. do you have windows photo gallery or an adobe product?
by NiteSpawn 3/27/2011 3:42:42 AM
Ok, i am out.....i see things and i havent smoked ....lol Sorry to everyone
by VeenOui 3/27/2011 3:42:55 AM
@Jim, Tepco fails at lying.
by Nancy 3/27/2011 3:43:29 AM
@Nancy lol, took my a while.
by Jim Carver 3/27/2011 3:44:06 AM
I found it : www.newscientist.com "Reliable, validated information is still lacking on water levels and temperatures at the spent fuel ponds, but the IAEA announced on Friday that prior to the earthquake,
The entire fuel core of reactor unit 4 of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant had been unloaded from the reactor and placed in the spent fuel pond located in the reactor's building."
by Sinthia Domina 3/27/2011 3:44:34 AM
@Sinthia Domina That's right and that's why the pool was so "hot" because it was fresh spent fuel.
by Jim Carver 3/27/2011 3:45:56 AM
Does anyone know why they are using fresh water on the reactor and still continuing with sea water on the spent fuel rods? What's the distinction?
by Karen Warren 3/27/2011 3:46:32 AM
@Karen Warren Maybe supply? dunno
by Jim Carver 3/27/2011 3:47:20 AM
@Grizzly the tallest building that changes color due to light has to be No. 2 it's the only one with a roof. No. we can't see because of the damage to the structure. The top of No. 4 is covered by a plume in the first photo. that's what I see.
