@NHK Listener Not sure, that's possible. I haven't heard any update to it. The impetus of the FOIA request was that the USG wanted an evacuation zone of 50 miles (km?) as a result of the data.

GlbalHawk isn't classically set for radiation monitoring -- it's a radar and camera package. Constant Phoenix is the radiation sniffer.

@NHK Listener I don't know, it doesn't specify in the article. And it was 50 MILES, not km. The FOIA was asking why they needed such a HUGE area of evacuation, when Japan was recommending only a 12 mile radius.

@Jojo they're saying that the artio of Pu238 to 239/240 is disproportionate to historical fallout, and are "admitting" that it may be a result of the incident. I find the absence of Pu238 readings from sites 2, 3 and 4 disturbing.

The artifact I was picking up was near that little light plume of steam. I"m not sure if it was exactly one top of it. But it was near there. @VeenOui

@Natalie. That is the 3rd incident of light in that area. More were found on a video of tepco camera shots someone compiled. It is really odd. A spotlight like from a fire truck shining into that area "could" create a light like that if there was enough moisture etc. in the air to create the circle where the light reflects. Otherwise it starts to get into the hmmm. territory. They are only using a concrete boom on one building. We need to figure out what area that is on the tepco cam. That would help sort out what it is. If that is nowhere near the unit they are using the concrete boom it may be something of interest.

@ifz There was speculation earlier about a glowing spot in an otherwise black image from the tepco webcam - whether it was a digital artifact, a unicorn, chernekov radiation, etc.... turns out to have been steam.
