@UKVal huh. Could something bad at the plant be capable of triggering a 6. quake without a surface disturbance? I would assume of something like corium hitting a water table happened it would cause some sort of blast? Or is the plant on a main spot in the fault line?

@ Bobby - Oh I love the built in reverse bit. when they builta huge extension to the British library in Leeds they muddled up inches & centimetres & as a result all the floors were misplaced

@Nancy or could a 6. quake centered almost on top of the TEPCo Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant cause even more damage to the FNPP which might be yet another reason why full disclosure of information regarding the status of said facility continues to be illusive at best. We're chasing rainbows here folks, this numbers and statistics game is the forest we can't see for the trees.

@UKVal @Tenzing Yeah, the guy in that video was basing it solely on the reports of "44 miles south of Fukushima". That's pretty much where USGS has it, and it's definitely not "directly under Fukushima Power Plant". Near it, yes, but that's a relative term. Notice the scale he's showing it in the video... pretty hard to nail down an epicenter.

yep 40 miles seems right -I haven't got a scale on the map I'm using to check. What is remarkable is the 26 quakes within a few miles of each other in that region in the past 48 hours

Other than the quakes from underground nuc tests back in the day, and small ones from large mining operations, localized. Anything with a huge amount of explosive power.

@Salvador The video shows lots of steam in the sfp of #3. There is also a new hot signature over the #3 sfp in heat images posted today. Wonder why it is heating up and are they doing anything? Do they have an internal filling method on #3's sfp?
