@Mejin @Fradycat It's rather confusing. It seems the initial 5 ratings were agreed a week after the quake/tsunami, when they would surely have already known of the early fuel damage and the correspondingly high radiation levels. Hmm.

Kobayashi Asao seems to be an earthquake expert, he predicts a 7+ earthquake with 48 hours in Tohuku or Kanto region.

@Tenzing Anecdotal evidence of an increase in birth defects... The squeaky wheel get the grease. Send in some serious un-affiliated analysts to review the incidence. Oh wait, there are no serious un-affiliated analysts. Where will impartial analysis come from? I have no answer. We will get some left wing "opinion" and some right wing "opinion" and we as impartial seekers of truth will have to decide on some midpoint. I worked closely with CIWIS with depleted uranium and had two great kids, but I was not on the receiving end of Depleted Uranium.

@UKVal, you have to also look at the area that the plate is tearing away from, and that is the West coast of the U.S. There have been thousands of small breaks there and now in places that normally don't see quakes at. Plus the quakes farther East in Arkansas show that the North American plate is moving West with the Pacific plate. ALL that is piling up against Japan.

@Jay, Maybe can't predict them, but you can look at the bigger picture on that map !!! We have our first medium quake West of Japan, which is hopeful that now the Plate that Japan is on is starting to move West, that would lessen the amount of pressure being put on Honshu area where all the quakes are happening.

@wtm - i do not usually comment on here, but I have noticed that Greece gets a little quake prior to Japan getting one, and there was someone from Greece on here earlier that said that they are getting nothing to speak of now! weird.

This is a very dangerous situation. We don't need 2 or more plants spewing out radiation. Are the authorities doing anything to prepare for this?

@UKVal, RadioGuy, YES if you could overlay that map on the quake map, it would show about the same area the quakes are happening in. If you look on the incident map and on the right select "Hybrid" it will show you sat photos of the bottom of the ocean and you can actually see the ridge of the plate around the Pacific.

I grew up with plate tectonics as the accepted geological theory, just as all of you did. However there is an alternative theory that has strongly caught my attention. People who are open-minded will review the all evidence and may form a conclusion very different from plate tectonics. The 3-minute video youtube link will demonstrate visually that all the continents fit together perfectly on a smaller-radius earth and that is a good place to start learning about the new hypothesis.

@wtm I feel that if San Onofre or Diablo Canyon in California were damaged, the effort would be even more inept than Tepco's.

One item that I was trying to put together is the Tide times i\both in Japan and on the Est coast. I believe that the tides have some hand in helping put pressure on the plates as the waters become deeper and heavier against them. Trying to see if there are more quakes in the area when it gets high tide and less when it is low tide.

@Sky, what happens if you soak a ball in water and then spin it ?? The water will spin off of the ball as it spins, so is the earth spinning and the earth is moving outward as it gets flung off the ball.

@edano -it's to the west of Tokyo south of Iwaki. I've counted 26 earthquakes west of Iwaki in the3 last 48 hours before the recent calm
