These are the lists my husband sent to me a little while ago...He has a TON of emergency/survival info..He is all about being self-sufficient/sustaining...I thought he was a bit bonkers in the beginning but as time has gone on...I am seeing what a wise man he is...Let me know if you'd like anything else along these lines. :)

I've included a couple other ones that have general guidelines on what to look at stocking up. I also have this "Making the Best of Basics" book I won that has a lot of worksheets/tables on not only food/household items to store, but on gathering specific documents and whatnot for safekeeping. The one I was talking about is the one entitled "5 a week preps", but that $5 a week I think is outdated and will be more like $10 a week accounting for inflation. Either way I think that's a doable amount. And it's also modifiable, as there's some stuff on there that I don't think we eat, so no point in storing.

The Scribble architecture has brought together such a unique group of individuals, that it became a learning experience for any new Novice due to their one common dedication....underlying it all is the outpouring of concern for the average Japanese citizen that has been affected by not one or two but tripple disaster....numerous Japanese residents have themselves gathered their information from here due to it's forthcoming easy to understand and welcoming arms of such a selfless community.

While the History of any internet forum has proven that lurkers eventually post, it is often also known to attract Trools and outright negativity from some overly isolated individuals.......however, this usergroup has managed to create a fully unmoderated perpendicular running board, that has self censored itself despite heated and disturbing themes were active...this I believe would resemble the Japanese way of respect in itself !

It's an event that seems distant to most folks. Many are not even aware that there is still a crisis unfolding, and that crisis will eventually directly affect them. One message we have is to educate yourself - get familiar with "the lingo" of the story - know where to look for dosage levels, health issues, and find dependable websites. Another is to let your government representatives know this is important. For example, those in the US -request testing on Pacific fish stocks, let the EPA know that any changes to radiation levels must have public review.

Well now, wasn't the governor brave to tell TEPCO they can't resume operations at Daiichi?! It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the Daiichi plant is a wasteland that will remain so for thousands of years, would it? I'd wager the governor can keep his word on that commitment. Notice no mention of Daiini...
