  • Slow Down on the radiation level discussion for a second, please. Per this link www.mext.go.jp Fuku prefecture looks like 1.7 micro S/hr. Where are the data levels (link) for this specific school you guys are talking about (koriyama)?
    by RBeaner 5/1/2011 12:29:42 PM

  • RBeamer they are below in some of my posts. The NY Times article mentions Koriyama in final paragraph.

  • @Bobby Thats a very interesting map. It's like the plume when NW, and then veered SW.
by General Armstrong 5/1/2011 12:32:57 PM

  • @General Armstrong There's a valley in that hot area, a highway and many cities, looks like the dust settled there.
    by Bobby1 5/1/2011 12:34:45 PM

  • Would love to see that map with Fukushima Daiichi located, with 20 and 30 km evac radius drawn.
by General Armstrong 5/1/2011 12:35:05 PM

  • I know. Or the plume went NW and then veered SW??
by General Armstrong 5/1/2011 12:35:52 PM

  • @General Armstrong My question is about stable (GPS) monitoring points. In a given schoolyard, around this plant, a point can probably be found at a specific tiome that is 5 microS/hr, while 3 feet away, it is .5microS/hr. That map is not useful because it classifies large areas at the same radiation level. This thing is going to play out for weeks and months with changes dependent on weather. check this map out and see how nearby (relatively) radiation levels change www.safecast.org
    by RBeaner 5/1/2011 12:39:01 PM

  • @General Armstrong Yes it did, looking for the link of the hourly wind analysis.
    by Bobby1 5/1/2011 12:39:41 PM

  • time to go .. will be back..
    by dean 5/1/2011 12:40:06 PM

  • @General Armstrong : i made an overlay before, the radiation follows the highway exactly.
    by Edano 5/1/2011 12:41:27 PM

  • There are Japanese tweets talking of the school situation and this that sounds ominous ...
Governor of Fukushima, about things of polluted soil was transported off Fukushima radioactive "to everyone outside the prefecture, worry, I'm sorry to inconvenience"Do not say? First know how to apologize

  • Hello everyone. I couldn't follow the blog for about 3-4 days and looks like that i've missed something. WOuld you please tell me what is going on and why almost all the posts are about radiation?

  • Hi DT, just jumped in. Nothing major has changed. We did think the pages were going to be shut down for maintenance over the weekend but that was a false alarm.

    Hi , dean!
    by DT 5/1/2011 1:16:54 PM

  • @elainekirk in your searches have you come across any that talk about Tepco possibly replaceing the reactor "head" also during the outage.... now that I have full size drawing and better quaility pics I ahve been able to "possibly" identify some of the systems that are probably not working... could you hold or alert me if you see any pipe/equipment items... (something that would not intrest most might be very informative to what i am trying to do...) example ... outside pic were you can read the lettering on the pipe... if the tank is on the ground outside the system inside will not be operational and would be a possible pathway... I would appreciate anything, then I'll weed it out... we are very busy (with real job) so its hard to follow... thanks
