@ALL. G'day. Well, interesting things afoot for unit 1. Remember they announced their plan to icrease water to it, so as to hasten water entombment? And they said they had to stop because the presure dropped dangerously low? The published stats don't reflect that. The 'low' pressure on the 28th was A.) 0.418mPa B.)1.170 mPa. barely a drop at all, and way above low accident design basis. The temp did fall (as you'd expect from a flood of water) but not that much and it's gone higher than before the test. 28thApr. 107.3/98.5C ; 01May142.0/105.2C. Unit 1 is a big worry to me...

@dean the brodcast really showed how usless the board is ..... It really time this group hits the political trail..... we can't stop NPP... but a goal to stop the power up's and extentions.. is something we could accomplish...

@dean @Nancy g'mor nancy.. one thing the gav't does understand is votes.... and the largest voting population is "50 and over and the college age... I think we have a large base to get educated...

@fitter Getting the US based people on the board to add our voices to some of the already complaining groups could actually do something. We need to get those people identified, make a statement of what want done so everyone can make sure they are wanting to sign on to that idea. Get the group a working name. Make the statement and start sending it out to NRC, congress etc. There is also the possibility to get non-group people to then follow suit.

@fitter There seems to be some people doing that work for us right now. I have started seeing some US political groups taking interest in this issue. Most are left leaning but it is starting to become an issue. The concept of these clear actions, stop the extensions and review these plants is fairly easy to educate people on and make a clear list of the dangers.

@dean we had a senior center here that was funded by county funds... they gave them a month to close down because there were to many whites (no offence to anyone, just fact) 200 and they only had 21 minorities.... so they had a pubic meeting.... the minority pop in this dist was only like 17% so the number still worked to keep it opened ..... but the bottom line can to be the voting poputaion and they told the board ... you close we vote you out

@fitter being neutral is a good thing. I think the general concensus about the licensing and safety reviews on the Mark 1's is pretty neutral - it is just common sense. I do know the more left politically communication channels are already talking about this and easy to drop information into or to get people here or educated. I don't know about other groups but remaining neutral politically helps get real information out.

@dean I agree..... We will be living with NPP, but we should not have to live with the "conditions" and lack of "information" and "safety" ,,,, and 60 years on the older mark etc.. is not something we should have to live with...

@Bobby1 I don't see any "clamp down". Dispelling rumors sounds like trying to educate people. I really doubt the US govt is going to attempt to start censoring people. More likely talking about information campaigns etc. from the article ""We will advance cooperation focusing on first preventing damage from rumors and dispelling concerns about Japan's (key role in) supply chains," Matsumoto told reporters at a joint news conference. Unit 1: Remember they said that during the test to increase water for 'water entombment' that pressure and temp. had dropped dangerously low? Data doesn't support that. On 28Apr., temp. dropped from 132.0/110.5C to 107.5/98.0C. Since then, it's rising; 01May 142.0/105.2C (not a good sign). As for pressure, on 28Apr. it 'fell' to 0.418mPa/1.170mPa. 01May, it is 0.445mPa/1.230mPa. No dangerous levels apparent there, unless it was a wild fluctuation.

@fitter I think that becomes a second argument. A couple of people have said that here and I think it has some merit. If were on the hook for the potential bad outcomes we should have more control over what is going on and reap any potential profits to offset any bad outcome's costs.
