- For anyone cruising through this evening Asahi Shimbun has some details on the makeshift tsunami wall being put in. They are trying to fill the trench end holes to prevent a tsunami from pushing the radioactive water out. They also moved from the idea of concrete pillars under SFP 4 to trying some steel ones. - The thing about preparing for tsunami... for real, only 1-2 meters high... sounds like they're only trying to contain the toxic sludge... but in my opinion that wont hold. - My guess is quicker to put in place but I would think they need to be anchored or those rock baskets could get displaced. Makes me wonder if they are just being really careful or if there are solid predictions for more large quakes. Then again the almost daily 4-6 rated quakes just off the coast are probably enough of a sign things are not dying down. I am glad to hear they are looking at putting steel supports under the SFP. I have not heard anything about the building under the SFP or what is actually left inside. I just hope they can safely get people in to do the work.by Nancy 5/3/2011 2:44:16 AM
