any one seen this photo?
by dean 5/3/2011 12:07:07 PM

1 - fuel rods from one assembly?
2 - wider water tube from center of assembly?
3 - bottom of assembly?
4 - racks from spent-fuel pool?
5 - sleeve of assembly?
6 - sleeve of assembly, burst open, oxidized on outer side?
7 - water in/out pipes from spen-fuel pool?
Item 7 seems to match a model of the SPF shown on NHK. Items 6 of course are more likely to be metal roof panels (but where from?)

fitter.. yes I have seen graylocks for the hight pressure.... typically the top head flange from what I"ve seen where I worked uses a double --ring standard flange.. with studs and nuts..

check that out..

www.physicsforums.com link for the physics forum.. is where I found that
by dean 5/3/2011 12:10:41 PM

no fitter.. just the o-rings no metal gaskets on the reactor vessel
by dean 5/3/2011 12:11:08 PM

fitter.. yep.. just a big ole rubber o-ring gasket
by dean 5/3/2011 12:16:47 PM

2 of them
by dean 5/3/2011 12:16:51 PM

good point Nancy, fitter may be able to shed alittle light on that with her markups on the drawings... it's like some collection point perhaps from water chemistry area for the SFP or maybe fresh irradiated fuel as posed to old fuel

nancy.. maybe you could go to the physics forum and link with jorge stolfi who posted the photo... I will have to register up with physics forum to gain access ..
