  • @dean when looking at steam lines they should have "high point vents and low point drains or returns to the condensate system... vents would have to ty into a system... (due to rad) but still needs to follow the same principals.. as regular steam..

  • @dean correct ,I think the fire system is "uninsulated red painted" that would be standard FIRE is always red, that i have seen... but they paint the pipe red... the steam lines I have been looking at are insulated with the RED stripe on them...

  • @dean good site, has a question box... need to get verified info on some of this... the one plant we do work at has been bought out by international company and is or has change the color system.... its not as simple as people would think... you need to know what "code/spec" has the finial athority.. (so wish i read japense) one is easy "gray is concrete" my gray pencil is very short these days!!!

  • @dean at your plant have you hear or seen the vendor" graylock" they make very high pressure/seal seals (mating gaskets) pretty sure that's what on the reactor head but they have a wide selections of them... e-mailed a request to them but due to National Securoty and Company rights sought they will respond

  • 1 - fuel rods from one assembly?
    2 - wider water tube from center of assembly?
    3 - bottom of assembly?
    4 - racks from spent-fuel pool?
    5 - sleeve of assembly?
    6 - sleeve of assembly, burst open, oxidized on outer side?
    7 - water in/out pipes from spen-fuel pool?

    Item 7 seems to match a model of the SPF shown on NHK. Items 6 of course are more likely to be metal roof panels (but where from?)

  • fitter.. yes I have seen graylocks for the hight pressure.... typically the top head flange from what I"ve seen where I worked uses a double --ring standard flange.. with studs and nuts..

  • @Dean, something I noticed looking at that back/north wall shot of #4. There is a clear blast hole down lower and then the black marks or goo people were talking about. Could be coincidence that a hole blew out there and that is also the corner of the worst damage on 3. Makes me wonder what equipment was in that corner below the work deck that might have added to the destruction.

  • good point Nancy, fitter may be able to shed alittle light on that with her markups on the drawings... it's like some collection point perhaps from water chemistry area for the SFP or maybe fresh irradiated fuel as posed to old fuel

  • @dean @nancy the ground elev.. is 10000... the slude reciver starts at 187000 on the north side, according to some info i was reading yesterday (not confirmed) the sludge residuale may be "able to produce hydrogen gas along with nitous oxide, and needs to be vented... but they also show it as a flat tank????

  • @Nancy Yes most sludege i have seen is "black" and "nastey" were have to do alot of saferty work and "costly clothing" just to send our guys into the pits of "non-nuke" sludge... the guys really do not like these projects.. they are Nasty
