  • I'm not seeing that. 7 May RPV temps were 163/150, DW were 206/153. 8 May RPV temps were 202/152, DW were 209/158. 9 May RPV 210/153, DW 210/154. I do see Unit 2 CAMS reached 148 on 8 May, before its initial drop to 128 on 9 May.

  • Perhaps someone's doing Fahrenheit/Celsius conversion -- >300F, not > 300C. Someone talking about temps greater than 300C -- the plant parameters I'm seeing do not support it, so I wondered where the data came from.

  • @Markfm Look at the 5th and 6th. I can't remember for sure what sensor it was but it was in the DW section on 3, one of the temps listed was in the 300 range for a while, had been running in the high 200's. I don't read the plant stats often enough to remember specifically what one it was.

  • LoLLopezz on twitter is suggesting that the contents of the sfp are 'touching' the flange of reactor #3 and are the source of the high temp reading

  • @Markfm this Japanese TEPCO page www.tepco.co.jp has more data than appears on the English pages. Google makes a reasonable translation job. Down under the apology box are the links to reactor temps and pressures. The linked PDFs are updated every few hours so the page needs to be refreshed to pick up the latest link. @bo kindly got the column headers translated.

  • well.. so on 4 perhaps the explosion which did the structural damage was from the fuel in the reactor that they said.. wasn't in there developing the hydrogen to cause that facility damage but not doing as much damage to the SFP.. I would have expected to see a whole lot more damage and debris in the SFP that what they showed

  • In the video from #3 SFP I saw a leaking rod assembly, something not noticeable in vid from the SFP of #4. Anyone else see it?

  • @dean yes, there were a couple of thermal images that showed the RPV well being hot and some were wondering if there was fuel in it or parts of fuel etc. I noticed something in the paper I am reading. It mentions the control rods being inserted on #4, I didn't know if that was a typo. Would there be a reason to have the control rods up in an empty reactor?
