  • Which charts? Most are in English if you can find them. www.tepco.co.jp www.tepco.co.jp
by Ralph Unger 5/10/2011 2:23:11 AM

  • @Nancy I looked ..hi Angie! at your bombed out reactor building! Any idea what happened..the 'fire'? It hasn't always been that bad has it?
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:23:27 AM

  • @Ralph Unger there are a few in reports that were not translated over.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:24:18 AM

  • @all- hello. Had to cut grass today ( takes 5-6 hrs.), but am impressed by Angie's and Nancy's pictures. Nice work! In the 4th one down, is there a gray cap next to the yellow one? In the next 'window'? My eyes...
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:25:06 AM

  • @Jim supposedly the "fire" was massive steam plus lack of spotlights in that area. TEPCO admitted the big steam show at 3 was due to the high temps we have been watching there.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:25:30 AM

  • @you the grey reactor cap is one more space over to the right but I think that may be the steam separator that goes under the yellow cap.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:26:53 AM

  • Okey dokey. Nice clear pics. Tepco will NOT be amused.
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:27:41 AM

  • @marie rich 4 isn't quite leaning over as much as initially thought but it really looks beat up worse than it was.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:28:58 AM

  • @marie rich no they wont be! Yay for a clear day and the TBS zooming in and out! Glad you surrived mowing by the way lol
    by Angie 5/10/2011 2:29:10 AM

  • They look like the marine barracks in Beirut after they were bombed a few decades ago. My stomach still clenches every time I see them, and I think "how can they ever fix..."
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:31:37 AM

  • If anyone thinks if press or media I should send those to let me know.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:31:52 AM

  • @Nancy , what data were you looking for?
by Ralph Unger 5/10/2011 2:32:12 AM

  • CNIC? Arne Gundersen? NY TImes?
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:32:45 AM

  • Reuters! Lol
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:33:10 AM

  • @Ralph Unger I already transcribed the charts for the quake tests. Was just pointing out TEPCO has a habit of not releasing everything in English.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:33:19 AM

  • @Marie Rich, I don't think there is enough money in the world to fix things over there!
    by Lurking 5/10/2011 2:37:43 AM

  • @Lurking I'm still in the 'bury it!' group, but I think Dr. Kaku and I are (were) in that crowd.
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:40:12 AM

  • @Jim, I haven't seen much from Dr. Kaku lately, have you?
    by Lurking 5/10/2011 2:43:01 AM

  • @Lurking No I haven't...Think i'll go see if he has anything new.
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:44:20 AM

  • # 3 lost a good bit of water on 5May at point 'A', -1850 to -2050, now seemingly stable at -2100. And temp (whhich was already rising) took a jog up that day, too, also pt. 'A', 128.5C to 156.6C. Pt. 'B' ;140.0C to 143.3C. There was, iirc, two 6.X EQ's that day.
by marie rich 5/10/2011 2:46:28 AM

  • Reuters doesn't give a way to contact reporters. :-(
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:48:54 AM

  • @Nancy I have Miles O'Brian's email at CNN.
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:52:15 AM

  • #nancy-I see a link to contact a reuters editor. Do you think that would work?
    by momof3 5/10/2011 2:53:05 AM

  • @Lurking Dr. Kaku book just hit #7 on the NYT list. So I bet he's pretty happy.
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:53:30 AM

  • @momof3 better than nothing :-)
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:54:01 AM

  • reuters-en.custhelp.com Corrections and suggestions to editor of reuters? Not sure if that's a good way to handle it.
    by momof3 5/10/2011 2:54:11 AM

  • @Jim I sent via their newstip if you think it would go further send over the email
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:54:20 AM

  • @Jim, he should be. That's quite an accomplishment!
    by Lurking 5/10/2011 2:54:40 AM

  • @Nancy k, it should be in my gmail. He's the science/space guy. I've sent mail and he's written me back every time. just a sec
    and i'll see...
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:56:27 AM

  • So the repairs at #1 arenot working due to the air quality. I see another fail on the books.
    by Lurking 5/10/2011 2:56:29 AM

  • @Nancy Miles.Obrien@turner.com
    by Jim 5/10/2011 2:59:20 AM

  • @Lurking It seems to be the radioactivity vs what is in the air and they are finding hot spots inside piping.
    by Nancy 5/10/2011 2:59:31 AM
