  • @Angie I completely get it! I just left a job in Special Ed in February! I found this small snippet on #6. I'll see what else I can dig up. enenews.com
    by LM 5/19/2011 4:31:12 AM

  • @LM lmao I live special ed! lol thank you ! I am goin gback through the news board to try and also find where the info on #6 came from.
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:32:26 AM

  • @Angie This is an awesome article that references 6 and the H2O problems. www.yomiuri.co.jp
    by LM 5/19/2011 4:33:52 AM

  • @LM Thank you! Those little mentions of 6 are all that I am finding as well in articles...........Guess they are trying to keep it quiet for now?? Looking back through the board they also said temp was rising in 5 and 6............
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:36:36 AM

  • Here is where they got the temp risiing that they were talking about..... www.reuters.com
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:38:53 AM

  • @Angie Oh joy..I guess I'm not surprised. I get the impression they are purposefully trying to shift focus from 1 reactor to another so as not to amplify the issues at all 6...clever, but stupid at the same time.
    by LM 5/19/2011 4:40:05 AM

  • Ok so they still havent told what they found in #2 yesterday and now they have gone into #3 today............ So I wonder how long it will take to hear about them?? @LM I agree on the shifting focus.......
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:40:35 AM

  • If we're lucky, we'll hear tomorrow but I'm not going to hold my breath. They'll probably time it to coincide with some other innocuous news. I do know that the workers in 2 pretty much had to run screaming...90% humidity and heavy radioactive steam!
    by LM 5/19/2011 4:44:16 AM

  • @LM roflmao at the description of #2..............Yes I do think you are right tho!
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:45:34 AM

  • Well..my family is glaring at me..time to log off and get ready for bed. Night all!!
    by LM 5/19/2011 4:46:47 AM

  • Any other mods around??? I have to go and pick up the rug rats in about 10mins.........I will be away for 30mins or longer just depends on them. I dont want poor souls traped in mod........... Night LM I know what you mean about the glaring lol
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:47:24 AM

  • test
by marie rich 5/19/2011 4:59:21 AM

  • lol You are safe anyone else?? I am leaving now......
    by Angie 5/19/2011 4:59:54 AM

  • @All I'd like to introduce you to a junior radiation technician who works for Bartlett Nuclear. He's offered to share some info on radiation detection with us.
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:03:23 AM

  • im not the most experienced or most knowlegable but i can try.
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:04:10 AM

  • i heard people are setting up gieger mueller detectors for informational purposes
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:05:08 AM

  • but geiger muellers detect dose more than contamination, id suggest using an ion chamber...they are better for detecting contamination, which is what you would get from fallout...
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:06:20 AM

  • however a ludlum 19 (micro R) or other similar models are used in non RCA (radioactive controller areas) environments to detect dose. these detectors would be more applicable to what you are looking for
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:07:47 AM

  • any questions?
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:08:18 AM

  • where would one purchase such a thing and how much would it be??
    by Meretisa 5/19/2011 5:10:34 AM

  • ...ok well btw all of these instruments must be calibrated by a known source; they may not be calibrated well from their dealers - and they can become uncal'd in use. we source check them daily in my line of work. these sources can be ordered through a college or university. they may even be bought online as non-radioactive cal. sources
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:11:25 AM

  • @Meretisa i do not know as the ones i use are from the power plant i work for. but im sure if you googled "Thermoline" or "Emberline" or "Ludlum" you would find a hit
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:12:35 AM

  • @marie rich thanks.
    by Meretisa 5/19/2011 5:13:45 AM

  • an ion chamber is what you would be looking for, but you would want to get the right probe as many are sold with "pancake" probes. a detector is a different entity than a probe.
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:13:45 AM

  • no probs, just a friend of marie's tryin to help guide ya'll
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:14:25 AM

  • @all for those wondering links to the Thermoline: www.thermoline.com.au and Ludlum: www.ludlums.com
    by Meretisa 5/19/2011 5:15:59 AM

  • ok i made an oops...a geiger mueller detector is what ur looking for. sorry
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:17:56 AM

  • ion chambers detect dose. GM tubes detect contamination
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:18:23 AM

  • you will wNT TO FIND A PROBE WITH A LARGE AREAA SURFACE
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:21:07 AM

  • sry caps
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:21:12 AM

  • a proportional counter is more efficient than a GM tube but more expensive and cost more to operate
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:22:08 AM

  • TY Jr rad tech. If any have questions, He ytells me he will attempt to answer them in the near future. You can relay them through me.
by marie rich 5/19/2011 5:26:33 AM

  • thanks. :)
    by Meretisa 5/19/2011 5:29:34 AM

  • Ok I am back!
    by Angie 5/19/2011 5:35:51 AM

  • @marie rich hi I am sorry to bother you but I remember you had problems with crazy music starting from your music - it now happened to me. Can you help me - was there a serious problem with your computer?
by Jill in Sweden 5/19/2011 5:43:16 AM

  • @Jill in Sweden no. It happened a few times. A Mans voice speaking Mandarin Chinese (which I was trained in decades ago). I don't know why...but no probs with computer since. Weird
by marie rich 5/19/2011 6:24:57 AM

  • @Jill in Sweden Quite honestly, I'd been talking around top secret-code word stuff and I thought it was a warning from the gov't to stop, which I did. But that's prob. paranoia more than reality. lol
by marie rich 5/19/2011 6:26:57 AM

  • @marie rich tyvm I seem to have catched some of that paranoia too lol! But I thought it had somehting to do with being on this blog and someone on here... It also happened to me when you wrote about it last time and later I saw warnings not to click on links and later something about someone hacking teh mods priviligies (this was later deleted) on this board so I was just freaking out...
by Jill in Sweden 5/19/2011 6:30:57 AM

  • @Jill in Sweden I didn't click on those bad links tho. It was really weird stuff. A gong, then the guy talking fast (too fast for my rusty skills, just caught him saying 123 at the end), and then a gong again.
by marie rich 5/19/2011 6:34:03 AM

  • @Jill in Sweden You talked to that radiation guy, maybe someone in your gov't didn't like that?
by marie rich 5/19/2011 6:35:04 AM

  • @marie rich - I remember when that happened to you. I don't think you're being paranoid.
by Maureen Burke 5/19/2011 6:35:30 AM

  • @Maureen Burke Hey, Burke! But we're ALL a tad paranoid on this blog. lolol
by marie rich 5/19/2011 6:36:31 AM

  • I have no idea what the hell happened but I just had to restart and wait for ages to log in again...........
    by Angie 5/19/2011 6:36:37 AM

  • @marie rich- I am paranoid too but for different reasons.
    by Lethbridgean 5/19/2011 6:36:43 AM

  • We happy band of nutters...You know what the old saying is .."just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you"
