  • Did Fukushima kill the nuclear renaissance in the U.S.
"Germany's quick retreat from nuclear energy and Japan's consideration of the role of renewable energy sources in response to the Fukushima crisis raise the question of what will happen to the global nuclear industry and especially in the U.S.?"

    by dean 5/21/2011 1:27:45 AM

  • @dean Oh I am glad your write up is going good! I only just logged on.......I just glanced back......not looking like I have missed much..

    by dean 5/21/2011 1:31:26 AM

  • @dean Yes please I sent you a news story the other day at the request of Elaine............Remember though what ever you have written will probably be way over my head lol
    by Angie 5/21/2011 1:32:40 AM

  • his name is Gundersen..
    by skibboy 5/21/2011 1:33:31 AM

  • @Angie nothing fell down or went boom. I have been out most of the day. Got an email from a reporter. Worker conditions are going downhill, heat is a big concern. Some conversations about that as you go back through pages. They are estimated to be out of water storage capacity in a week.
    by Nancy 5/21/2011 1:36:05 AM

  • @skibboy So is his wife's, who's running the show.
by Rob in SF 5/21/2011 1:36:23 AM

  • oops. skibboy.. Arnie Gundersen
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:37:24 AM

  • @Nancy No boom or falling is a good thing..........Those poor workers my heart goes out to them. So another float then in a weeks time?? Anything else on #6 or has that gone all quiet again?
    by Angie 5/21/2011 1:38:14 AM

  • dont think its a show, its a damn catastrophy..
    by skibboy 5/21/2011 1:38:24 AM

  • Ok I have lots of cleaning to do today.......I shall take my laptop room to room to free souls from mod though.......lol so sorry if I am a little slow on freeing or responding!
    by Angie 5/21/2011 1:41:43 AM

  • @skibboy @skibboy I assume you mean Fukushima Daiichi and not Fairewinds Assocs.? (I was referring to Maggie Gundersen, FWIW.)
by Rob in SF 5/21/2011 1:41:51 AM

  • @Rob in SF yea,sure!!!
    by skibboy 5/21/2011 1:42:34 AM

  • skibboy.. what are your thoughts on the whole fukushima accident or aftermaths
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:44:20 AM

  • @Angie temps are still within somewhat normal ranges at 6. About the only sign we have to tell if they get too much water in 6 and lose cooling. So far still running.
    by Nancy 5/21/2011 1:45:05 AM

  • @dean contaminatig the whole world, why are Fexpart and Zamg models gone?????
    by skibboy 5/21/2011 1:46:17 AM

  • @Dean, how do you want your name on the paper or do you prefer it left off?
    by Nancy 5/21/2011 1:46:37 AM

  • check email Nancy
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:48:19 AM

  • @Nancy @All, hi guys! Worker conditions are deplorable, for sure. Homeless recruiting? Contractors not having to count their dosage limits? It truly boggles my mind.
    by Luriking 5/21/2011 1:49:47 AM

  • @Nancy Thank you! lets hope the water stays low.........Another "troubled" reactor is not what is needed right now.........
    by Angie 5/21/2011 1:51:00 AM

ATTENTION: These products are highly uncertain based on limited information for the source terms. Please use with caution and understand that the values are likely to change.
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:53:55 AM

  • I think one reason is that attention warning on the models... with limited and missing source term information it's hard to accurately begin the model to show dispersion...
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:54:51 AM

  • From what I've seen.. there are many different models to use for dispersion and probably many models within countries.. with out delving into one in detail to look at the assumptions used,,, I'm just not sure on which to pick ..
    by dean 5/21/2011 1:56:06 AM

  • @Reed the Austrian Weather Service stopped the charts by the end of april, the EURAD, the European Atomic something stopped their charts early may, after intervention of who knows who.....
    by skibboy 5/21/2011 1:56:37 AM

  • @Dean, emailed you info on the paper.
