    by LM 5/24/2011 12:13:00 AM

  • @LM - 2 was like that yesterday too
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:13:05 AM

  • lol well it took them long enough to come out and say it............
    by Angie 5/24/2011 12:13:56 AM

  • @UKVal I didn't even notice! Yikes..I wasn't around as much yesterday.
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:14:02 AM

  • Hey do you think they've read Dean's paper & know they have to come clean?
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:14:48 AM

  • Just had to wait past the 21st of May so as to not cause public Panic. That is the true fear from what I've gathered from some on this site. LOL. Those who denied wanna come clean now and say sorry?
    by Lethbridgean 5/24/2011 12:15:15 AM

  • Everyone involved has got to be brought up on charges............Frad, assault with a deadly weapon...animal cruelty....coverup.murder by knowledge...vehicular public slaughter
    by Veenie 5/24/2011 12:15:27 AM

  • 3 meltdowns are worse than 1 meltdown, i would say. isn't that worst case ?
    by Edano 5/24/2011 12:15:30 AM

  • @edano I'd say so...given they also have containment failures.
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:16:28 AM

  • @Lethbridgean why past 21st May?
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:16:39 AM

  • @UKVal - the Rapture or whatever...
    by Lethbridgean 5/24/2011 12:17:11 AM

  • the secondary containment is a joke. it is not designed for corium. in free words you can say we have a triple china syndrome.
    by Edano 5/24/2011 12:18:06 AM

  • @Lethbridgean More like its coming up close to the time most people are ment to be evacuated from certian areas............
    by Angie 5/24/2011 12:18:10 AM

  • @Lethbridgean Does that mean the next round of admissions won't come until October?
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:18:37 AM

  • @Edano yep tht's how I'd describe it
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:18:59 AM

  • Sooooo, ...all the steam we saw.....was DEADLY...PERIOD.!!!
    by Veenie 5/24/2011 12:19:24 AM

  • And no more storage or radioactive water!
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:19:41 AM

  • For
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:19:52 AM

  • @Angie yes they've really brought on the increased evacuations
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:19:57 AM

  • @Veenie I fully agree with your last post........I think they should be charged! @UKVal.........Yep all in prep for this statement I bet!
    by Angie 5/24/2011 12:20:42 AM

  • @Veenie but we knew the steam was deadly. As far as we're concerned there is nothing new - the situation is what it has been for some time. How the Japanese react may be different
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:20:57 AM

  • Michio Ishikawa said they had all melted down 100% 3 weeks ago. Yes all the steam and smoke is deadly. Japan has been fortunate that most of it has gone over the Pacific and nailed the US, but that is changing with the rainy season coming on.
    by Bobby1 5/24/2011 12:21:13 AM

  • Over two month's wasted, instead of Entombing this clusterfork, they played hide and seek.....TWO MONTH's of contammination Air Land and SEA....
    by Veenie 5/24/2011 12:21:32 AM

  • @Veenie but this is unprecedented. They have no idea what to do. No-one does. That's what's so scary
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:22:29 AM

  • @Veenie -exactly
    by Lethbridgean 5/24/2011 12:24:01 AM

  • @Edano I've never felt 'secondary containment ' is a real description of those buildings
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:24:33 AM

  • @UKVal Thats what I am finding scary.........What the hell are they going to do and in my uneducated op shoving a tea cosy on it is not going to help!
    by Angie 5/24/2011 12:24:46 AM

  • I hate to say this but what happens when the 7.0 or 8.0 hits within the next year? It's more than likely. They can try to shore up for EQs but tsunami..not so much.
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:24:46 AM

  • They keep releasing "plans" that are like children designed them compared to the complexity of this event. It's like they release them just to be saying SOMETHING without even thinking rationally if they have any hope of succeeding. Then the next new "revelation"/Major setback" removes even the plan.
    by radioguy 5/24/2011 12:25:00 AM

  • @LM ha dont forget the typhoons............
    by Angie 5/24/2011 12:25:18 AM

  • @radioguy they're clutching at straws & trying to show they are doing something.
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:25:37 AM

  • I'm still waitning to see if their denial of global warming extends to building entombments that don't even account for it.
    by radioguy 5/24/2011 12:25:56 AM

  • It's all to avoid panic. I've had to offer plans like that myself -although not in such a nightmoare of course.
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:26:30 AM

  • Well, i hope the Russian fully engage on this official news and force them since no one else has the balls, to do the right thing and encase this..this has to STOP !
    by Veenie 5/24/2011 12:26:35 AM

  • obviously the russians did a better job in containing the crisis. they very rapidly dug tunnels to catch the corium. tepco does not even seem to care about it.
    by Edano 5/24/2011 12:26:54 AM

  • @Angie So true!!
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:27:12 AM

  • @Veenie I don't think they can encase them at present. From what I've read it's not possible at the moment
    by UKVal 5/24/2011 12:27:32 AM

  • They are caught between so many lies, and so many different CYA operations that are suddenly conflicting. Deniability trumps effectiveness at every turn. "But what if they put together that...."
    by radioguy 5/24/2011 12:27:46 AM

  • Next big announcement prediction.....Water dumping into ocean...
    by LM 5/24/2011 12:28:19 AM

  • @UKVal Exactly, this thing is being heavily managed by GoJ. Hence the earlier NRC 'leak' from the US.
by Rob in SF 5/24/2011 12:28:46 AM

  • Thing that suck's, WE ALL HERE been saying the same thing even beofre others jumped on it..all along we raised questions.......all the people on the interwebs were not wrong......and you cannot tell me the GoJ didn't know......no way....and let me ask this........the US evac zone was far greater.............how could GoJ now possibly excuse their backing TEPCO and their own lack of sincerity ??
    by Veenie 5/24/2011 12:29:17 AM

  • Did I miss some new bad TEPCO news?
    by Nancy 5/24/2011 12:29:27 AM

  • I cannot believe that all the evidence , the failure of tepco to plan, the thousands still in shelters many of which are now thought to be at risk of landslides, the billions donated that instead of being used by charities is sitting in government coffers, the children attending schools that are heaviliy polluted and yet international governments and media are ignoring it
    by elainekirk 5/24/2011 12:29:31 AM

  • How about any reason that a sustained power failure is suffered by any BWR plant. It wasn't just the EQ and Tsunami that caused this. The back-ups can fail for any number of reasons.
