Has anyone found any confirmed information about the spent fuel at #1 having the water vaporized out and the spent fuel melted? I saw this mentioned in passing on blogs twice now today but no confirmation or source on either. Don't know if this has any evidence or another internet rumor.. ;-)

@Pedro Jesus That wouldn't explain 4 though since it has no pressure to release. #3 do they still have pressure in the RPV? I thought that went to atmosphere also but could be wrong. I remember containment went to atmosphere on the 20th of March. If the core is out of the RPV would they have a way to depressurize? Would they have a way to depressurize other than the vents that failed? I can't remember if they have some alternate functioning vent system.

@Edano LOL ok well then we have fully vented systems. Vented everywhere all the time. ;-)
