@dean Thanks! The emergency level classification seems to clear it up. NRC hasn't issued anything new I can find and there is nothing at the General Emergency level at Calhoun.
I will write something up with all these references related to Calhoun. Will post a link when I get it done.

@bo @will thank you very interesting seems like people power may be coming to the fore. 3months is the point where all the bumph says compensation should be distributed and I think that the fact it isnt is becoming a sore point

A Dimming Nuclear Future

@dean I think the "emergency" alert is that last video is a put on. They are going back to the fire from last week. ::Headdesk::

utility companies have NRC reporting as well as STATE and different agencies like FEMA etc..
by dean 6/15/2011 1:22:57 PM

state emergency preparedness guidlines or procedures would include nuclear plants
by dean 6/15/2011 1:23:35 PM

@fitter Exactly. If something major went down at Ft. Calhoun it would be all over the local media. The flooding and dealing with all the facilities around Omaha has pretty much consumed the media. If something happened at Calhoun it would not be a secret. I think the people that put some of this stuff out on blogs and youtube don't realize people live in these areas and can fact check what they are claiming.
by lillymunster 6/15/2011 1:26:25 PM

@LILLY.. that video with the lady talking was just that,, looked like she dubbed in the national broadcasting system and all the talk... things like that on youtube can panic people..
by dean 6/15/2011 1:38:45 PM

@all, I need to see from the NRC the classification document about the level 4 talk before I will personally satisfied,, or offcial notice from the utility or state..
by dean 6/15/2011 1:40:50 PM

@dean That is why I am looking into this. That kind of thing is totally reckless.

@lilly.. I have acted in the capacity of EMERGENCY DIRECTOR for training on nuclear accidents and trust me.. it's a major challenge to stay on top of every thing and get reporting set up, then dealing with all the regulatory authorities all thinking their questions are top priority .. tempers flare at times..
by dean 6/15/2011 1:56:25 PM

@MaryW they did that on June 6 when the flooding unusual event was issued.
tfr.faa.govby lillymunster 6/15/2011 1:56:37 PM

one time this one regulator kept asking over and over and over.. demanding answers.... he was actually located about 7 miles away and I finally told him.. if you aren't satisfied with being placed in the priority of reporting , updates etc.. then jump in your car and drive on over... whewwwww
