    by dean 6/16/2011 3:00:34 AM

  • @Peter were you able to bird dog things down to an answer?
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:01:11 AM

  • @Peter Melzer Thanks, that makes more sense now. :-)
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:01:18 AM

  • @dean @lillymunster Oh, so there is an "Alert Level"
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:02:01 AM

  • @Veenie Yes, there should be a link to it in the write up I did. The NRC has an incident level system.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:02:45 AM

  • Cool, i am going to Tweet the write up cause I am ticked off at the fearmongling
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:04:10 AM

  • yeppers.. Veenie
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:05:56 AM

  • we had links today on the notification levels and all the goodies on alerts, color codes and enforcement levels
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:06:46 AM

  • see. it's all messed up.. different levels for different things.. some times a level 4 is bad bad and other times a level 4 is.. oh never mind
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:07:53 AM

  • we need to find or make a nice figure that shows all the goodies on reporting, levels, etc.
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:08:31 AM

  • @Veenie me too. I owe you a frosty beverage of your choice. :-)
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:09:59 AM

  • @dean I had the NRC incident levels found this morning, the one that goes from unusual event to general incident. Can you think of other ones that should be included. I could probably throw something together in easy graphic form.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:11:05 AM

  • I can only PUSH out, what's brought to my attention, as is we are "posting" a LOT of info, if one would take the time to read them, you would find, that most the info from this NEWS board is WAY ahead of the post's on Twitter and FB.......really, the indepth articles on SimplyInfo. org are EXCELLENT, so is your write up about the "fearmongling" Calhoun.........Whatever you guys find here, IF it goes onto the Website "i hope" it goes out anywya but i am sure, that only 10$ of it all get's websided.?
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:11:52 AM

  • @Veenie Trying to take anything that gets molded into something useful and coherent into a blog post. I didn't put my Calhoun debunking on the group site because I was worried it would offend a few people.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:13:40 AM

  • I find that Twitter is a LOT of Noise and hype..lot of links to sites with alterior motives and or full of ADS, I HATE THOSE "ie Alexander Higgins"
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:13:53 AM

  • pbadupws.nrc.gov @Veenie.. just read and memorize that link.. he he
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:14:21 AM

  • @lillymunster Uhmm, well...ahem.too late....it's out there now.))
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:14:34 AM

  • @Veenie I was trying to do some research this morning and had to go 10 pages into a google search to get past all the blogs repeating the same questionable posts and get to actual information. :-(
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:14:45 AM

  • lilly,, there are so many different categories of emergency reporting ie, more than just nuclear reactors.. like food irradiators, fuel handling,, FEMA stuff etc etc..
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:15:25 AM

  • @dean I do NOT have the time to monitor any websites, I am soo tied up just maintaining flow and verifying it's only thanks to the two that help, that I can chill....One of "US" is a NEWS junkie P
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:15:59 AM

  • @dean I was looking specifically at reactor related reporting. I found the 4 incident categories. I saw mentions of the color coded violation system but didn't find the actual chart and descriptions.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:16:42 AM

  • oh I had that one posted this morning.. dang I hope I saved it.. it showed the color chart and all @ lilly
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:18:23 AM

  • was just kidding veenie.. that doc is the one lilly was talking about.. whewwww...
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:19:03 AM

  • Actually, you know what would REALLY help, kinda like what you do here is pinned up.but if we had a hidden page, where you post links with short description, we can than copy and hammer them out......Wanna know some info on statistics , we have THOUSANDS alone on FB clicking on our links
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:20:04 AM

  • @lillymunster 10:46 PM article with the mistaken 54 million figure. Translation: Original states 15,429 dead.
    by dh 6/16/2011 3:20:16 AM

  • @lilly.. they also have EAL's or emergency action levels for the different modes of operation in a nuc plant...
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:20:41 AM

  • Ok thanks for all you do, i am cruising ) latahs
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:20:43 AM

  • @dh Thanks, that sounds more in line with earlier reports. Had me a bit worried when I saw that huge number.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:21:00 AM

  • @dean , not quite there yet. I am essentially looking for vents that use own stacks, not the tower stack. Why? Because at the time the tsunami hit I saw steam emanating from the roof line of the reactor buildings. Then I saw these big pipe vents going up to the roof line on the NW corner of the buildings of units 2, 3 and 4. Unit 1 does not show this pipe. Therefore, there is a visible design difference in respect to building vents. I was hoping that early steam release may suggest which cooling systems were activated before the tsunami hit. The hardened vents are supposed to feed into the tower stack. So what systems are equipped with separate stacks that end at the roofline. I found two leads. One is the ATMOSPHERIC STEAM DUMP VALVE and the other is the ENCLOSURE BUILDING ROOF VENT. Have not figured out yet which one might feed into the stack on the NW corner.
by Peter Melzer 6/16/2011 3:21:06 AM

  • @Veenie later. I have some links on a hidden simplyinfo page that are resources for the NE flood info. if your still around I can find the link
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:21:43 AM

  • @Peter Melzer Don't know if this means anything. Someone sent me a news article that had an eyewitness account of white smoke at #1 right after the quake as they were escaping. Will go find the link.
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:23:11 AM

  • Link to white smoke article www.nzherald.co.nz

  • Airspace over flooded Nebraska nuclear power plant still closed. 04:02pm June 15, 2011. http:/www.businessinsider.com/faa-closes-airspace-over-flooded-nebraska-nuclear-power-plant-2011-6
    by MaryW 6/16/2011 3:23:51 AM

  • @Veenie yeah, a lot of noise on the net, but at least people are aware and curious for info, compared to when the Fuka nuke plant event happened, it was new to all.
    by MaryW 6/16/2011 3:23:57 AM

  • that one on the atmospheric steam dump valve was quite interesting,, outside the containment like in the air lock I thought.... and, I saw reports on NRC where they actually were using them to vent steam off,,, now if the steam is radioactive from an accident I thought hmmmm a direct path to atmosphere.. which is nasty.. like that one NRC report on having the vents open in the turbine building to get H2 out..
    by dean 6/16/2011 3:24:17 AM

  • @dh Are you a Japanese speaker?
    by smoss 6/16/2011 3:28:03 AM

  • @all, can you please verify this,...now they're saying AGreenRoad A Green Roadâ„¢
Nebraska Fort Calhoun Station #1 Nuclear Plant Containment Building Flooded nblo.gs
    by Veenie 6/16/2011 3:33:47 AM

  • @DH, anything new your hearing we are not getting through the English versions?
    by lillymunster 6/16/2011 3:34:04 AM

  • @dean , exactly. If a system that under normal shutdown conditions vented off clean steam, would release radioactivity because of quake damage, it would explain the radiation alert sounded by one of the outside monitors.
by Peter Melzer 6/16/2011 3:35:06 AM

  • @Veenie LOL " the containment building has been flooded by OPPD in order to cool the fuel rods." This has been known for at least a day and is in records.
