@elainekirk, home now, actually I was talking about reposting @asuperdry's link, which I see lilly did below.
by bo 7/14/2011 10:43:17 AM

@bo those numbers look quite high, where is he located?
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 10:44:13 AM

@lillymunster @bo ah right my alert system suffering malfunction believed to be caffiene shortage will remedy we will all have coffee
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 10:47:55 AM

@elaine caffeine!! @lilly he is located in outer Tokyo
by bo 7/14/2011 10:49:06 AM

@bo IIRC most of the other citizen data for Tokyo has been geiger readings. Those numbers seem high. Is there a way to get in contact with asuperdry? I want to write a post about those numbers but don't want to link to his report without asking first.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 10:50:53 AM

@lilly he has an account on YouTube where you can message him under that same name.
by bo 7/14/2011 10:51:29 AM

Oh! Also one more thing that @Olivier posted:
www.criirad.org It would seem to confirm similar data to that of @asuperdry
by bo 7/14/2011 10:53:02 AM

Here is @asuperdry's youtube channel:

by elainekirk 7/14/2011 10:57:48 AM

@elaine no prob
by bo 7/14/2011 10:59:32 AM

Posted a short on the Daily Yomiuri article about people unable to bury family.
wp.meby lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:00:15 AM

Well done
by bo 7/14/2011 11:02:13 AM

@lillymunster tweeted
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:05:11 AM

@bo thanks. Trying to figure out some twitter hashtags to distribute that in the US. Some of the union people I have on my twitter and facebook have been absolutely gobsmacked when they read what is going on in Japan.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:05:44 AM

@lilly no doubt. Of course I am gobsmacked when I see what is going on with unions in the states! Oy!
by bo 7/14/2011 11:06:45 AM

I think that when we look at Fukushima and see a much less robust response than the Soviet response to Chernobyl, we are all gobsmacked.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:08:58 AM

@bo @lillymunster the #radiation hashtag works us @Majj uses it too . Did you see my post re gov geiger counters ?
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:09:37 AM

Bird research now available on the group website here:
wp.meby lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:09:45 AM

@elaine I did, but still not sure the content through the googltrans
by bo 7/14/2011 11:10:53 AM

@bo many people have no clue what is going on in Japan and then hear one of the insane things going on they are shocked. How the workers were treated really struck a nerve with some of the union people.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:11:22 AM

Well, it's no heroic Fukushima Fifty is it.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:11:57 AM

@elainekirk I assumed they were going to give kids a dosimeter that recorded and showed their ongoing dosage level. If these don't and only have a high level alarm that is set too high that is not good.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:12:25 AM

I still think the awareness is snowballing here in Japan. It can only go in one direction, unfortunately.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:12:32 AM

@bo The last many people heard was what was in the national media months ago.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:13:04 AM

@lillymunster exactly lets hope people realise the importance of this
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:14:25 AM

@lilly you mean in the US?
by bo 7/14/2011 11:16:20 AM

@elainekirk as things in Japan congeal into more organized camps working on problems I think it will be easier to feed information to people in our home countries. If we can get the situation parents are under and the unknowns in the food supply across those are things people could related to and it might engage more people to pay attention.
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:16:25 AM

@bo yes
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:16:35 AM

@hallelujah to that. Even the Nebraska situation only brought the mentions up a tick. But having studied these events historically there is rarely any followup coverage in the US, even after TMI. No surprise. And with the 24 hour news cycle, the attention span is less than it was back then.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:18:00 AM

Oh, btw, if anyone is posting to Twitter on the worker issues if you have room add these hashtags: #wiunion #union
by lillymunster 7/14/2011 11:18:53 AM

On the other hand, look how much the US media embraced the whole nukes will solve global warming meme. That had no problem getting coverage. The country is full of global warming deniers, but they step aside when nukes were being promoted.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:19:22 AM

@lillymunster @bo thanks for the tags I tweeted the birds too
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:22:35 AM

@elaine it was all lilly, I am tweet free
by bo 7/14/2011 11:23:05 AM

Looks like it's headed straight for Hiroshima! Doh!
by bo 7/14/2011 11:35:37 AM

This Monday is a national holiday here in Japan. It's Respect for the Sea day. Kind of ironic, eh?
by bo 7/14/2011 11:39:40 AM

A post here on Japanese charities something tells me it should be significant but I am not sure why
www.economist.com I dunno if somebody could use it as a basis for an article but I think over the coming years as it is realised that these people will either have to live with radiation or self finance a move it will be significant, already there is talk of people having to pay their mortgages on properties they cannot even access
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:41:10 AM

@bo oh my goodness that is sad once you get over the initial reaction which in me was to laugh
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:41:53 AM

the workers are late tweeting today
by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:42:49 AM

@elainekirk it ws up to Greenpeace to move the residents of Rongelap in the Marshall Islands after they had been resettled by the US govt. on a still radioactive atoll. They are still living as refugees.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:43:39 AM

My wife made a dirty dirty Putanesca. Time to dive in. Will be back after a bit.
by bo 7/14/2011 11:44:03 AM

by elainekirk 7/14/2011 11:47:53 AM
