  • Voices from Social Media in Japan (Fukushima Daily Japanese News) . On the main stream of Japanese media, nuclear related news is completely hidden. So people who still have their sanity go on the internet to collect information. Though it’s anonymous, it seems that most of the posts are very trustworthy and sophisticated. I think that’s because those who post info also need trustworthy info for return.Trustworthy info is becoming more like money.
Since the beginning of the week, everyone is threatened by gov’s internet censorship. However,I personally don’t really care about that. Government does not have resource nor technology to do censorship in Japan,so they outsource the task to major advertisement company, such as Dentsu or Hakuhodo. However,in most of the cases, the kind of projects fail, because competition principle is not there.so I am not really afraid of that.
For the same reason,I have been warning all kinds of food are polluted, gov’s test is totally deceiving. Recently, it’s being proved finally. Beef, hay, pork, and every kind of agricultural products turned out to be polluted already.Govt’s test is nothing but lie.Don’t trust their test. www.dianuke.org

  • TEPCO won't help Turkey build nuclear power plants

The operator of the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says it will withdraw from Japan's bid to export nuclear power technology to Turkey.

Turkey plans 4 nuclear reactors on the Black Sea coast. Electronic maker Toshiba, backed by the Japanese government, is seeking construction rights.

Tokyo Electric Power Company had earlier planned to provide technical help on the project. But it now says it will focus on compensating victims of the Fukushima nuclear accident, including those forced to evacuate.

However, a consortium including the Japanese government and TEPCO appears likely to receive an order to build nuclear reactors in Vietnam.

Senior TEPCO official Junichi Matsumoto told reporters that the utility will continue playing a part in the national project of exporting a nuclear power plant to Vietnam.

The Fukushima worker's tweets: "It's been so hot! It seems like workers walked in to R3 today. Got exposed a lot?? Watch the news tomorrow.
cont) In R1, current exposure level is 2-3mSv/h (limit is 250/y); We need more workers definitely. R3 has higher radiation than R1...
(cont) even if we cover the high radiation spots, it will expand only 10 minutes or so for a workers to work inside R3. Then, PU management.
(cont) R3 should have so much PU inside the bldg, so, PU management is critical. I haven't heard anything about it, though.
(cont) Work inside reactor bldgs will increase, but no company would want workers to get high exposure, like 100mSv at once. because...
cont) once one get 100mSv, the worker can't work at nuke plants for 5 years, and no compensation during the years.
(cont) a realistic limit is 30-40mSv. Even with this amount, one can't work until next March. No one wants to work at the Fukushima,
(cont) when they know they will reach the year limit only with two-week work. Payment is going down, and rumors are going around about work.

(cont) JP gov & TEPCO should work on this, but they leave all the recruiting and compensation stuff to companies and contractors.

(cont) The current system based on contracts between companies and between contractors would fall apart soon, if no gov support."

  • you're welcome dean, did you see the other links I posted earlier? I'm wading through Google Scholar to see if I can find any reference to shipping MOX up to Fukushima between Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. Haven't found anything specific yet, but have found some interesting articles. I think the one on radiation (medical vs. NPP) might be a good one to put up on SimplyInfo. What do all y'all think?

  • -At 10:00am on July 27, we started to transfer low level accumulated water
from the outdoor temporary tank to the "Mega-Float." However, it was
stopped at 10:45am due to leakage from the transfer pump. The replacement
work was started from 0:30pm and ended at 2:00pm. It will be restarted
    tomorrow.

  • @dean i guess the irak war was expensive enough to explain the debts. the following bank crisis (for me clearly a consequence of the war) did the rest. it is crazy to live on debts without even thinking of paying them back.
