  • @elainekirk all the workers tweets have been a bit absent. Not sure if they were working lots or actually had time off? I will keep an eye on twitter tonight see if I see more info.
    by lillymunster 7/27/2011 1:04:03 AM

  • @lilly could it be that TEPCO has placed some restrictions on tweeting?
    by bo 7/27/2011 1:09:39 AM

  • @lillymunster @bo tepco and meti have been messing communications up but it doesnt explain that tweet what has happened to be honest I am crying think it just seems so ominous
    by elainekirk 7/27/2011 1:12:44 AM

  • @bo possibly but less likely since the workers tweet off hours and all do so under assumed names. They do sometimes muse about lots of things. One week was lots of thoughts about sacrifice, family, ancestors etc.
Elaine, maybe ask Rockhopper to DM him and make sure sunny is
    ok.
    by lillymunster 7/27/2011 1:17:28 AM

  • @lillymunster. I agree, they assumed it was all safe away inside those super shielded containment vessels Simirlarly I think people think that everything is under control and returning to normal. The nhk documentary is the clearest refutation of that I have seen.
    by Cat 7/27/2011 1:20:11 AM

  • @lillymunster rockt has gone to work :) he will be on in his break at some point though so maybe you will catch him and bo can update e in the morning

  • whoops pressed wrong key .. that I have seen so far. It manages to sum the whole mess up in both a scientific and human way. Definately an archive document that will be invaluable for the future.

  • @ panser it's nice to see that company coming out with those
    by dean 7/27/2011 2:20:37 AM

  • @dean agreed, there's an opportunity here to move the tech forward thanks to demand. A little surprised more companies haven't jumped on it
    by Panserbjorne9 7/27/2011 2:24:38 AM

  • agree.. unfortunately there may be companies who have the instruments but chose not to deal with the Japanese and their trade broker sytems. I know that was the way with the excellent water filter I found where the designer of the filter was approached by the japanese but they wanted to modify the patent etc. so, that unit is being purchased by places like orphanages, private people etc.. it's called the TRAP filter and gets the radioisotopes out of the water ...

Shock Scoops: Air unveiled a formidable Test Result in Fukushima translate.google.com British journal of research commissioned an analysis of the air filter of a car running a city, Fukushima. As a result, many types of high concentrations of radioactive material was detected. Cesium alone, accumulated amounts within 100 days from the incident radiation is 530 micro Sv. • Remember all those MEXT monitoring maps with the coded numbers instead of town names that we kept wondering about... some very high. They didn't even inform the towns what the codings were, so we had people moving from Iwate (safe) and evacuating to Akogi (that one reading at 330mSv/hr) MEXT hid the names of the locations becasuie they wanted to avoid "unfair rumors".
